  1. Question Regarding the Transfer Case while 4A is Selected

I own a RR and Bronco BL and I can state that from external appearance the two xfer cases are 100% identical. Only the rear output flange is different
  2. Question Regarding the Transfer Case while 4A is Selected

The 4A "advanced" xfer case works completely differently from older type "full time" xfer cases. In 4A mode it places the shift motor at the "kiss point" on the cam that locks the 4wd clutch, then the AWD control module applies and releases the clutch based on driving conditions. It actually...
  3. Can someone explain GMRS vs CB, and the benefits of a fixed mount vs handheld?

Here's what I did. There was an existing hole right there, so no drilling. On my Bronco I used the ditch light mount, and it works fine also. Don't monkey w/the antenna lengths cause they are tuned (so I am told)
  4. Can someone explain GMRS vs CB, and the benefits of a fixed mount vs handheld?

Right...terrain is EVERYTHING. Interesting situation in my local area, there is a very good, powerful repeater located very close to lake Michigan. I live about 30 miles due west of it, and I can mostly make out transmissions from my house, but lots of interference, and about 50% of the time I...
  5. Can someone explain GMRS vs CB, and the benefits of a fixed mount vs handheld?

Weather and terrain make a big difference. Being FM GMRS is mainly line of sight. We found in the Rockies and Moab that the signal will "bounce" off mountains and travel unexpected distances at times. Here in mostly flat, yet forested WI I can usually hit repeaters within 20 miles...25 in...
  6. Can someone explain GMRS vs CB, and the benefits of a fixed mount vs handheld?

A decent handheld is a good buy, and even if you do a mobile later, it's handy to have in case you want a passenger to spot for you, or somebody gets out to walk ahead and scout the trail. Nice to be able to radio back to the vehicle instead of having to walk back!
  7. Can someone explain GMRS vs CB, and the benefits of a fixed mount vs handheld?

GMRS=General mobile radio service. CB=citizens band radio. FRS=Family radio service. CB is AM. GMRS and FRS are FM. GMRS power is limited to 50 watts. FRS is limited to 2 watts. All FRS frequencies are part of GMRS, but power is restricted on FRS frequencies. GMRS HIGH power frequencies...
  8. Factory spray in bedliner scrapes easily

I have the factory bedliner. Mine seems rock solid. I thought I had scraped it a couple times, but it was dirt or whatever from containers I was carrying. Washed right off. I rarely haul anything heavy in the RR tho...have a super duty truck for that
  9. What did you pay for your 2024 Ranger Raptor? (Poll)

I paid MSRP technically, but the deal really revolved around my trade. I traded in a real nice, low mile 22 Bronco BL which was well optioned, and had lots of off road goodies installed. Of course they tried to "lowball" me on it at first, but after a little back and forth they came up to a...
  10. The Panda Power Module is HERE! Ranger Raptor 3.0L Tuning Solution by Panda Motorworks!

Have you guys, or anybody tried running this on top of a Ford performance tune? I have a JB4 on my 2.3L Bronco which also has the FP tune. Works well, and have had no issues, but RR definitely makes alot more HP out of the box!
  11. Cam phaser failure acknowledged

What I meant was it's not really important to know HOW they fail, since there is no way to service them other than to replace them. Ya it's a major repair, and that is irritating. This is not 100% specific to Ford either, other makes have this problem as well
  12. Dealer agreed to changing my cam phasers, but I'm hesitant

You can hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank the engine to pump oil to the phasers. Holding the gas pedal to the floor should put it in "clear flood" mode which will turn the injectors off and prevent the engine from starting. If you crank it for a couple seconds without allowing it to...
  13. Towing Hitch Drop Needed?

The receiver is mounted pretty high. I used a 5" drop to tow my jetski, and it looked correct by eyeball. Unless you are towing a very light car, the Raptor isn't a very good choice to tow it
  14. Poll: Beadlock vs standard wheels on Raptor?

Trim rings for Bronco Wildtrack are black from the factory, if you can find take offs out there
  15. Changing my oil for the 2nd time, drain plug question

2.7 and 3.0 have plastic 1/4 turn plugs...they are ghey!
  16. Poll: Beadlock vs standard wheels on Raptor?

I did mine for 2 reasons...#1 my truck wasn't a special order, and had the optional wheels already, #2 the Bronco I traded in on it had a set of badlands standard, and the now discontinued badlands optional wheels which I had already fitted w/beadlock rings. Since dealers never see the value in...
  17. 2025 Ranger & Raptor Order Guide Released

code 10 through 19 are retail customer orders
  18. Default to certain drive modes?

just gotta press it within a couple seconds of starting...unless EU is different. NA models ask on the dash if you want to return to previous mode (I never look either, haha)
  19. Default to certain drive modes?

It's one of the more annoying things about these, and 6g Bronco as well, and to date nobody has come up with a real good solution, you don't need to turn the dial tho...when you 1st start the vehicle you can press "ok" on the steering wheel...Ya I know that's not much better, but in time you...
