We scan for a certain BCM (Body Control Module) code, if present it gets a new BCM, if not just a BCM software update. I am a Ford Tech and I am skeptical.

I used a small amount of clear silicone around the covers after removing them. No further water intrusion. Plugging the holes will probably not eliminate the water leak.

Appreciate the info! The Ford accessory catalog does list different covers for 2026 models.

Did the dealer principal inform you that techs are allowed to do side jobs? I have worked at Ford dealers for 50 years and have never been allowed to do 'side jobs'

They get paid by Ford to lower the headliner. The truth is the amount paid by Ford is NEVER enough. Ford techs investigate ways to shorten the procedure. Most are paid by the job, if the job pays two hours and it takes them four, they only get paid two.

Ford's technician instructions state to lower the headliner. That being said, some techs do not do this. The headliner is manipulated in a way that causes it to no longer seat properly in the windshield area and/or other places. I have checked some after the repair to verify this. (Ford tech)
