I've seen this information wrong all over the web even stupid AI, so thought I'd give pictures of the drive type for all to see.
The 2.3l oil pump is Not chain driven. It is gear driven directly off crankshaft. This changed in 2020 in explorer 2.3l and 2024 and engine was even given a longer stroke than previous versions.

We've seen that the Rangers 2.7l and 3.0l is belt driven off gear cog drive on end of crankshaft. :like:

Did Ford engineers upgrade the oil pump belt at any time? I wonder if Kevlar would work in a prolonged oil bath without degrading? If it did, some company like Agrobelt could manufacture those belts to Ford spec.

in the other thread about that belt, someone already found it is kevlar and that is why there have been almost 0 failures in the millions of miles the f150s have put on those engines and belts

MPC architecture arrived in 2024 with the Mustang is where it started if my facts?? are right. The gear drive pump was earlier some say 2020 in explorer engines, MPC brought quite a few changes, Bore, stroke, internal strengthening webbing in block, different heads for dual injection, valves chambers etc...It's kinda strange how things get intermixed in the years! I guess we could say the mustang was the agility and toughness test, who drives a Stang easy? I don't! :)

Normally if the part number changes it is a design change of some kind. I don't see the number change from 2018 to 2025 in parts search.
