Truck King did a 115 mile fuel loop and got some data back. I have to say that it was pretty much spot on with Toyota estimates and that means it's better then 3rd gen from my experience. It was also in fairly cold temps. So some good initial numbers.

Something I think people are forgetting is that the 3rd gen estimates are WIDLEY inaccurate. If this is true, this is still a big step up.

I get 15MPG city with the v6 and no, I dont drive fast.

The colder temps shouldn't matter much, since the test loop didn't start with a cold start. Splits on the highway portion vs the rest would have been interesting. Hopefully, the hybrid model will squeak out another 10%, like it does in the 2wd Tundra. I doubt it"ll get anywhere near that 27mpg number that was tossed around for the new 250 Series Landcruiser.

It's worth calling out the air dam is removed in this test, likely could have done 1-2 mpg better with it on. Not bad results in those conditions. I'll still be removing it right after delivery..

411KM till empty seems low
Yes, I was shocked in the beginning too but if you watched their other videos, they were pushing the vehicle pretty hard off road and in in testing. The more telling result is at the end, after they did the 115 mile/185 loop where the vehicle still showed 3/4 of a tank left. That made me feel a bit better after seeing that.

My Ranger gets 11L/100 in the summer and 14.5L/100 in the winter even when I don't remote start it. Winter gas is brutal on fuel economy.

The time spent in warm-up mode is significant. above ~50F ambient, my truck drops into efficient closed loop operation within about 1.5mi, but right now it takes at least 3mi.

So looks pretty consistent with the '24 Ranger with the 2.3 engine which gets 20mpg combined.

On my '21 Tremor trim, I'm averaging 21mpg combined with el-cheapo 87 gas.

Tuned 21 ranger lariat on 33s and I run mainly 45-55 mph roads mixed. I get 23mpg on 91 octane. 28 on open 55 mph runs. If I run interstate drop back to 24. But didn’t buy a truck for MPGs

Tuned my 2021 ranger tremor and get up to 23/24 hwy in summer months at 75 mph. 19 to 20 town, usually. Worse in winter when leave running with heat on.

Shouldnt he be testing a mid level trim for mpg since most taco owners dont care about mpg, especially the TRD pro?
