Sales Manager finally got back to me and I have not been scheduled. He told me they have constraints on the 2.7L as well as Lariat trim. I told him I didn’t see any constraints on this weeks scheduling notes. He had no answer for me. I honestly believe he has no clue why the order isn’t being scheduled.

I have a Ranger Raptor in Marsh Gray with regular wheels, spray-in, bed rails, and no graphics pack on order. The order has been in since 10/17/24.

I made the mistake of being 100% convinced my order would be picked up on 1/16 after seeing that Raptor trim only was getting scheduled for that March build run. It didn’t get scheduled. I am beginning to think my dealer isn’t going to get an allocation…

How does that work? If you order one and put the deposit down with the dealer you mean I still might not actually get one because they didn't get some sort of allocation?

My understanding is that the dealer needs an allocation for that specific model (and trim, in some cases e.g. Raptor) for your order to get picked up and scheduled for a build date. Dealers get new allocations periodically, monthly, or maybe even weekly, based on that dealers sale trends and sale outlook for that model.

To your question, and my previous comment, I think in theory your dealer may never get an allocation for your model/trim and therefore your build may never get scheduled, but I'm not sure how likely that scenario is - one where you put an order in, the order is accepted into Ford's order banks, and you never get that order scheduled and built. I think the scenario that was mentioned by someone else above, the one where an order is put in deeper into the year and it doesn't get built before the model year transitions to the next year, is it's own case. I have heard of a lot of folks who have had orders in for a long time and they essentially lapsed when the next year models came around.

I was moaning and complaining a bit above about my build not getting picked up, but I would be very surprised, and obviously quite disappointed, if my order never got picked up and just sat there stale.

In my case, I put my order in for a model year 2025 Ranger Raptor in October of 2024 - two days after the order banks for model year 2025s opened. It is quite possible that my order was the first one that this particular dealer took for a Ranger Raptor. To date, my dealer hasn't received any allocations for Ranger Raptors. They confirmed this with me. That is the main reason my build has not yet been picked up. I expect that they will get one or more allocations in coming months so I am not too worried about it in the end. If for some reason my order ends up falling through I will just find one on a lot somewhere when they start showing up. There were plenty of 2024s available over the second half of the year last year.

The key thing is to stay in active communication with your dealer about what is going on with your order. Hope this helps.
