I have recently purchased a Ranger 3.0 diesel 240 and have had to borrow a demo vehicle while they fix some minor problem with the paint. Mine has done 1000 miles and the demo 5000. The demo vehicle is massively more responsive than mine. The demo is the same engine and according to the dealer that’s just because it’s “worn in more” I don’t believe another 4000 miles would make such a massive difference to the response of the vehicle. Anyone know anything about this or if the car will get better over time? Please help I’m going to send it back soon

Wish that engine was available in the US. I had a 2020 F150 with the 3.0 PS diesel and it was a towing monster. Discontinued after a 3 year run probably because it was taking away from Super Duty sales. I started getting peak performance around 6K miles

Ford in the US is going to help someone in England with their issues. Wow! Good for you Ford.

I can explain why it's like this. The break-in phase of the V6 diesel engine seems to be critical. Ford has limited the engine's performance through software until the total mileage exceeds 5,000 km.

As a result, vehicles with lower total mileage feel sluggish.
