I bought and installed the Gator FX hard folding tonneau cover the other day. Install wasn't too difficult. The thick seal that goes at the front comes all twisted up and deformed in the shipping box. I tried to leave it straighten out for a little while before installing but that didn't seem to help. I haven't gone back to look after the install to see if settled.
Anyway, the reason for the post is the cover has difficulty latching closed, especially the last panel by the tailgate. The other panels seem to close okay, even if needing a healthy slam sometimes. But the last panel, forget it. One side latches sometimes, but the other side I can only get to latch by using a flathead screwdriver and sticking it into the latch and levering down the white plastic part under the lip of the bed rail. I keep an old screwdriver now in the door pocket for this. It seems the bed rail just folds in a little towards the middle of the bed and it doesn't latch. There are adjustments under the latch cover, but only slide it a little in and out, no height adjustment.
Just looking to see if any other had similar experience and know a solution. Thanks.
