What do these buttons do? I still must manuel grab the hatch to close , then the motor takes over?

Don't pull on the gate. Those buttons automatically close the gate. The left one closes it, the right closes and locks the entire car. You have to have your keys on you.

Mine must be broken, the buttons do not feel like they have any spring in them…Nor do they do anything…

It’s a long shot bc it looks closed in these pics, but make sure the rear window is all the way shut. The power function doesn’t work if it thinks the rear window is open. Maybe in case there’s something sticking through the back.

I concur with Maximus4r ; the rear window must be fully shut for the buttons to operate.
On a similar note, the kick sensor on our rear gate sometimes works, sometimes doesn't and I don't know what I'm doing differently. It seems to work when the truck is locked.

The manuel shows where you must kick or remove your foot. The manuel did not help me or I over looked this button issue. Thanks for your response.

Yours looks broken. The panel is suppose to rest on the outside, yours looks pushed in and tilted

I had the same issue when I picked up my 4R. Apparently the rear hatch is disabled during shipping from the factory. So none of the rear hatch buttons work until enabled during Pre-Delivery Inspection by the dealer. My salesperson went into the settings using the steering wheel (see pics) and enabled it under PBD.

I read in the manuel how to set height which is great for those not 6’3” . Guess I got to have a visit to the Steelership Service Dept😟

LOL. Check my revised post - I added pics of the settings menu.
Ok Yeah! I did not try that, thanks… Always some good info to have! Just got back from steelership. It looks the whole moulding of the rear door has moved away from door. They want it for 4 hrs😬
