Sooo yes my hood shuts hard! Yes my drive shaft is rusty! I have a STX so lacking some options ya all have. Can I turn my bed light on from inside of cab? Or only was to see what's in bed is open door? My bed has NO FORD in oval under back windo..if look at XLT they have it! So base model skip oval? I installed a light bar under tailgate..now my dash always show trailer not installed??? I don't have back up assistance and have NO led bulds in rear lights..it's a for sure thing each time I use reverse the center info center says trailer disconnected? Any one get pass this yet?

Only the factory spray in liner has the FORD oval in the bed.
The spray in liner on that blue truck looks aftermarket.

If you plug anything into the trailer wiring of these trucks it will say you have a trailer connected. To use a light bar, you need to wire them into the taillights. The truck will consider a trailer light tester a trailer.

I'm assuming that reverse is somehow making your truck think that the light bar has been unplugged.

Well just trade it in for a new one. Too many issues to resolve and time.

Easier said than done. Had mine off to install LED bulb in turn signal and brake/tail light is LED and I couldn't see any wires on it like the turn signal bulb.

I did the taillight splice modification. Added light strips reverse wire and ground=it works. Added the turn signals wires in each taillight. results=only the right blinker light works (blinks in parallel to the Ranger's OEM blinker incandescent bulb). In the taillight. The running light connection is on a small unconventional plug with 6 wires (ON THE TAILLIGHT ASSY.)- I did not make a connection here (need more information).

So, direct Taillight assy. wire connections to the Ranger's taillight sockets makes the reverse and right blinker work. (the left light strip blinker does not function).

Next step is to find a schematic for the Rangers, unconventional LED running taillight assy. plug (brown wire of the light strip). IMHO the running lights “shaped in a big “C” are LED, so polarity matters.

BLUF, when you connect the brown wire of the external LED strip (run/brake lights) to the trucks external 4 wire trailer plug below the license plate.....that’s the culprit that kicks off all the dash alarms- Meaning, I need to identify the correct unconventional plugs running light pair (LED power). So, the Brown wire from the external LED Light strip, remains “not connected” due to unanswered question-please identify what wires on the taillight LED unconventional plug are active when the LED taillight Assy is active (illuminating) when the truck is “on” with running lights "normally on".
