Did a spray in bed liner today from a local bedliner company. But noticed the tailgate torsion bar was not reinstalled. Appointment tomorrow morning to go back and get it reinstalled.

Any precautions I need to be aware of so I can alert the tech doing the reinstall?

Anyone experience this?

I had the same issue. Be sure that the plastic keeper is in place. They lost mine and had to back order it which took 3 weeks. The reinstall was very simple. They have to partially remove tailgate, reinsert the tension rod and then finish installing the tailgate. It took about 10 minutes. The dealer knew exactly what to do.

Make sure the plastic clip that goes around the opening for the bar is installed or you'll bend up the sheet metal.

Thanks .. didn't want to bring to the dealer. But we figured it out this morning at the spray liner place.

From a tailgate up\closed position it's really easy to reinstall. 15mm bolt on the left side. Fish the rod back into position on the passenger side, back into that square opening with plastic insert. Then on the left/passenger side raise the torsion bar back into position and screw the bolt back into position. Then the 15mm socket to retighten the bolt.

With the tailgate in the up/closed position, there's zero tension on the bar and very easy to reinstall

Thanks for y'all's help .. all done!
