I built out one of Vertical Tire Carriers this morning and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. It installed in about 5 minutes. Super stable, super lightweight (25lbs). It uses the already stiff edges of the bed to secure the mount. It's stout!!!.
People say this may be the lightest/strongest, easiest vertical tire carrier ever to be installed in a Ranger. I don't say that, but I heard some people do.
This will also probably be the least expensive vertical tire carrier on the market. This design doesn't require a bunch of extra tubing, welding, or jigging. Exactly what I was shooting for!
On Friday, I'll build out the new slider and drawer to mount between the two spares like you see in the last rendering in this post.
