Did Toyota just quietly announce the starting pricing for the 2024 Tacoma? Our photo from the 2023 Detroit Auto Show captured the 2024 Tacoma on display with a placard above it which reads: “Starting at $28,600

It so happens that’s the MSRP of the current model 2023 Tacoma SR. Which raises the question — did Toyota manage to keep the 2024 Tacoma pricing the same as the current model, or is this just an unintentionally confusing marketing blunder on display at the NAIAS?

Unfortunately, there were no representatives there at the time to confirm or deny it.

Update: the QR Code on the placard goes to the 2023 Tacoma landing page... Here's to holding out hope this is a nod to 2024 pricing.

This would be a most pleasant surprise!! When was the last time they raised base pricing on the Tacoma and how much was the increase, anyone remember?

Love that price point! Hope it's pretty accurate.

Just saw the update about the QR Code, and that's exactly what I was thinking.

Would be smart of them to keep SR pricing the same or only slightly higher with a greater increase on upper trims to offset that.

And while would love to think it's a wink wink nudge about 2024 pricing it's probably just a dumb marketing move.

I would say that it is a possibility as the SR has leaf springs instead of coil springs and also a less powerful engine. We can only hope.

that's a sick truck for under $30K in this market. Hopefully I won't need to mansplain to my wife why I'm getting a Trailhunter for $63K when the base price for it comes in at just ~$50K and destroys GMC's Canyon racketeering.

Seems like some bad marketing to have the QR code going to the 23 model..... and showing the 23 model pricing so prominently right on top of the 24 sign.... unless it gets updated for the public part of the show seems kind of sneaky

So I am guessing this is the only 2024 on the floor? Just curious because this seems to be the only one I have seen pictures of so far.

If that is an accurate starting price for 2024s that’s an impressive number. I just had to go look up, that would undercut the Colorado slightly ($29,200 for the 2023) and similar for the Frontier ($29.570 for the 2023), perhaps not enough to sway a decision. But it also undercuts the Ranger by a more significant margin ($32,565) and obviously the Canyon ($36,900).

I heard from another youtuber that was showing the 2024 Tundra and they specifically said the pricing on the placard was still the 2023 model because they talked about the increase specifically.

In the initial announcements of a new Tacoma, they said people would be shocked by the pricing. They are purposely undercutting their rivals let's hope it is throughout the lineup. I actually looked for the article but cannot find it now. - I know what I heard...and this is the brand I follow and know best. Since the 80s.
