I've had some annoying rough downshifts and, less so, upshifts since I got the truck, almost entirely at low speeds. I've got an appointment with my local dealer in a couple weeks and hoping a software reset will improve things.

This past weekend, going about 45 (maybe 50) mph, I was approaching a big hill and had a gap between me and the vehicle in front of me so I gave it some gas to accelerate moderately hard - didn't floor it but definitely pushed it a bit. I assume the shift was from 10 to 9th gear and it was so hard and loud that my wife jumped from reading her phone and thought I hit something. Pretty weird.

On the bright side, that was near the conclusion of 600 mile road trip here in Colorado, including snow, high mountain passes and some mild off-roading, and we averaged over 24 MPG. Not bad. If only the transmission would calm down I'd be happier.

I have noticed in my 24RR that if the transmission is cold, it downshifts pretty hard at low speeds. My solution is to just let the truck warm up before I get in. At temperature, I have not noticed any real issues with the transmission other then that though.

I noticed that too when I first got the truck and was probably within the first 500 or maybe 700 miles or so.

I'm not sure if it has to "learn" your driving habits but I noticed when I got the Ford performance 455 horsepower upgrade things smoothed out immensely. I haven't encountered that since, but I'm not sure if it was from the performance flash itself (which I installed at 1000 mi) or it just learning my driving

Same here (but mine is an XLT), the low gear rough shifts are quite pronounced when it's cold and mostly goes away after the transmission warms up. I also now start the truck to warm it up. In my opinion, this is unacceptable.

The high speed rough shift was obviously different.
