Wouldn't it be nice if we got our first V8 Ranger. Maybe the long rumored 4.8L. Maybe it will be son of Godzilla a pushrod V8. A pushrod V8 would easier to package than a OHC engine.

Been saying it for years- update the 3.9L from the TBird & Lincoln LS.

Doubtful. With the 2.3EB at 270/310 and the possibility of getting the 2.7EB from the Bronco (not to mention a probable hybrid in the works), there's plenty of power on tap with better mileage than a V8 can muster. (thanks, CAFE :( ) I don't see Ford offering one again, unfortunately.

The old 351 in a '96 Bronco only had 210/328, not really as good as the current four-banger. And mileage? I owned one. 10-11mpg at best. I've test-driven a new Ranger. It has plenty of power. So it sounds like crap? Agreed! :D
