New update from ford video guy. No scheduling until the new year. Sounds like 3500 regular rangers and 700 raptors will be built in March.

This was the first of his videos that I've seen where he gave Ranger production numbers for a month.

After visiting my wife's family for Christmas, several of whom work for General Motors the past 30-40 years, their comment was: "If it's a new model, let them practice the fit and finish on the first 1000 before they build yours".

Well, that’s something I’ll deal with when the time comes. Also the truck is only new to the U.S but not totally new, it’s been being produced in other countries for almost 2 years.
However, this Still doesn’t have any bearing on my excitement and desire for my truck.

The kinks should be worked out from the get-go. The Ranger has already been built for 2 years overseas. At least that’s what I’m hoping.

The GM twins have had all sorts of problems with their new truck. Ford can’t afford for that to happen after being the last truck to the party.

You have absolutly no idea what you are talking about. Non of the tooling being ran on ranger has been ran before, it is all brand new. Kinks will happen and get resolved. The savings grace is many of these major subassemblies (drivetrain components, wiring harnesses, frame) is already in use today. Expect issues to be present on the first ~1000

Why do you feel the need to degrade this guy’s comment?
“Absolutely no idea what he’s talking about” like you know everything? What makes you the authority of quality control at Ford?

Look man, I've been in manufacturing on the engineering and tooling side all my life. There are ALWAYS unforseen problems that get caught off tool. Panel gaps, bushing clearances, gear lash, adhesive retention, connector pinning, and about a million more potential problems. The possibility of the first 1000 trucks coming off the line with no issues is so close to 0 it is barely worth mentioning. It is preposterous to believe that a device as complicated as a modern vehicle with a quality requirement north of $32000 will run flawlessly through assembly the first time through, or the 100th time through or the 500th time through.

The fact that @Pac987 has no clue what they are talking about is evidenced by using the argument that "it works overseas, why won't it work here" even though NONE (see 0%) of the tooling that makes this product is the same as what is overseas. Ford Oceana may as well be a different company on a different planet compared to Ford NA.

I personally understand and somewhat agree with what you’re saying about mechanical and quality control issues and tooling. But I think you’re missing the point.

Just because you have knowledge or experience in a certain field or industry, doesn’t make someone who doesn’t have that expertise or experience, a stupid person.
You see, There’s ways to give people respect and get your “opinion” across, to get it across in a way that doesn’t have to be or seem disrespectful or belittling. The guy was simply chatting it up on a forum and here you come ready to criticize and bash him. Anyways, hopefully we can all get our trucks soon and we can find different ways and topics disrespect each other

I never insinuated they were unintelligent, I said they have no idea what they are talking about, which is true. For all I know, @Pac987 is a brain surgeon, someone who would be extremely intelligent, much more than myself, but may still not understand manufacturing. Regardless of intelligence, they still spoke out of turn and showed no knowledge on the topic.
