Yes, the J-Braces have been an on going conversation with the dealer. Sadly they knew nothing regauding this issue until I raised the issue.

Just got mine last week, Ranger Raptor and the only addition I've made is adding the Yakima rack, and removing the stickers on the bed, Ranger Raptor. Haven't put any kayaks on it yet though.

It is an issue with every ranger if you want to install anything above the bed rails.
