I'd go with the person assuming I had a previous car that did this even though in the they responded to it was clear I did not. As well as anyone one being a troll online. I wasn't the one who started name calling.
Me posting this has helped more than 1 person realized this can happen and avoid...
I had my old vehicle for 18 yrs.
I also do quality testing for a living and always advocate for user friendly and intuitive use.
I have always changed my own wipers etc. So when you do this 1 way on all vehicles for 30 yrs. this change is not intuitive and can lead to damaging the vehicle...
My last vehicle was bought new in 2006 so who is the dumbass?
My wifes car is a 2013 and also doesn't have this.
I would still have my old vehicle and drive it except life and needs have changed since then. So a truck makes more sense now.
That is what i have been doing actually. I didn't know this the first time i tried it and have been doing it since. guess i just didn't pull it forward enough last night thought.
Still kind of a bad design.
While lifting my winshield whipper's last to avoid freezing the whiper to the windshield last night I noticed it was rough and rubbed against the hood. today I went to look and all they paint is rubbed off. anyone else had this happen? Not happy about this at all.
I had a the lower swing arm bolt shear off going 70+ on the freeway at night and just barely skidded to a place with some shoulder. This was way back when on my old Civic. Had just bought new tires for it too.
Search the forum there is a post about fixing the hood issues and a service note on it.
I adjusted the rubber nobs that is the recommended step 1. Helped a lot.
Yeah ran into the is same thing when i was looking at it. sounds pretty much like it's to cover there butt and explain why you ate getting 12mpg instead of 20 :D.
It doesn't say you can't.
By just adjusting the bump stops as described mine now latches way better than it did.
I wish I'd saw this service note sooner since I just had it in for the auto window rollup issue last week and just had then do everything then. Still shuts a little harder than it should.
This was my one concern, I wanted the 2.7L for more power when towing, but this dropped the payload from 1595 to 1351. Of course i have and XLT that maxxed out with tow text 4x4 and rear locker, but i don't think that would change it anymore than 50lbs or so.
Anyone know the payload on the 2.3L...
Scheduled my update for this 2 weeks ago and had it done this morning.
It appear a few setting were reset. I noticed my folding side mirrors are not auto closing on lock anymore.
Will try to check other custom setting after work today.
Mine work well to me (XLT model) at least, no real issue. Lariat's look nicer but haven't driven one in the dark.
perhaps i'm just use to crappy headlights :D
They are doing a recall/update to fix folding mirror's and also related to the remote close windows not stopping correctly when an obstruction is in the way. Mine scheduled for next week.
I wanted the F-150 for the onboard power generator, but it was just to big.
Maybe I'll upgrade my vehicle sooner than expected if it lives up to it's promised. My city MPG has been below the advertised on the 2.3L so far.
Will sit out at least the first year to see how it does. with it hitting...
Only down side would be towing capacity. All those extra batteries with def. lower payload capacity. I'm not sure how they would keep the same payload like the article says...
``` The Ranger PHEV retains the towing, payload, and off-road credentials of its non-electrified counterparts```
I wanted the 2.7L but needed a truck before this summer for vacation. Then it just set in detroit forever and vacation was ruined anyways.
I love my truck, but since it took so long really wish I'd just waited for the 2.7L. If you are going to be towing I'd recommend getting the 2.7L. Def nice...
