For me, I think it's all I will need. I do want to get the exhaust setup. maybe better airbox & pipes? Charge pipes replaced with intercooler already.

Until a stock F-150 Raptor can beat me again. (I am assuming next year, right? Kinda have to.)

I plan doing the same, Meredith downpipes, Whipple intercooler, AFE cold air intake

Funny, I came from a 06 Corolla. Although have a XLT and not a Ranger.

I would like to be upfront. I work at a dealership. I'm just a parts warehouse guy, but I have been there for coming on 3 years. I paid for 1 hour labor. That was agreed upon before we began.

It took the tech about 45 minutes. There is setting up an account with Ford Performance, entering some ID # from box, and registering with Ford. (OR Ford Performance) then he had to download the tune to the device. Then upload it in vehicle, which is about 5-7 minutes. You can go back and forth on the handheld device they provide.

There is an OBD2 wire, and window suction mount included in the box. And USB to PC cord. Data logging is possible, and it has MANY options for gauges.

I will try and get some photos of screen of different options. But it's in-depth, and UI is program file name, instead of easy to use UI. (But switching tunes is straight forward with on screen instructions)

Am I reading this correct in that you can flash between the stock and performance tune at will with this device?

Correct. There are two tunes loaded.

The stock and Performance. It isn't a simple switch, it's a shut down, and go through the loading screens.

But yes, you can switch it back on your own.

That's how it's "supposed" to work. My Bronco refuses to do that tho...says original file is corrupted. Don't know how that happened, but I don't need to flash back for any reason really

I only got 1500miles and did early oil change. Filter had some normal metal flakes. Would it be wise to wait until after 5k miles before doing the tune? I’m thinking that might be best. Maybe do it at 10k. Dealer said I could do the tune on brand new engine and wouldn’t affect things. But a little apprehensive given my low miles.

Lol true was just looking for a reliable dealer that is able to do the tune with out a bunch of BS .

Shouldn’t be a problem, other manufactures like bmw offer tunes at time of purchase, now ford will too on new rangers, likely next year it might be standard

It’s been news for almost 10 years now that a Ford Performance tune will never be standard…

I did the same HOWEVER, they did remove that feature for CA compliance...so DO NOT update your tune, if you wish to keep that feature! I am hoping while RR is in the "49 state" phase we can expect the same, then that feature will be removed later? Remains to be seen if that's how it's gonna work

No it did it automatically before, that's a shame
