After 26 days in dealers shop, I finally got my 2024 Ranger Lariat home. They initially could not find what was making a loud metallic “whirring” noise. Finally tracked it down to both front hubs. Had to replace both. Less than 2000 miles on truck. Apparently manufacturing defect. Anyone else have an issue like this.
Dealer paid for rental car and Ford extended warranty to 5 years or 50 K.

Not if they fixed it. In most states they get 3 shots at it. Don’t fix it after the third try, then a lemon law can be invoked not before.👍🇺🇸
Every state is very different, but most have an issue recurrence count OR a days in a service shop count throughout the first year. Sounds like they extended OP’s warranty as a good faith move to encourage him not to go down the lemon law path. OP is in Florida which has a 15 day count in their Lemon Law.

It depends what your sound was like, but mine had one that only showed up after 20 or more minutes on the highway(after only 1800km). It is in the thread titled Whistling Noise. It ended up being the propeller shaft. It got replaced, lasted 2500km and now it's doing it again. The dealership has ordered another propeller sshaft and told me this will essentially repeat until Ford gets a new part number for replacement.

Is yours a 4x4? I have a 4x2 XLT which has a fan-like rhythmic whirring noise. It keeps the same tempo at 10mph as it does at 45mph. I also still have the problem closing the hood. Ford took my VIN info on this forum about it but I’ve never heard back from them about a fix.

I have an XLT 4x2 also with the same noise you are describing. I have 7k miles on it and will be reporting it soon. I also have the hood problem. Check out this link

I’m gonna give it a shot in the morning

Search the forum there is a post about fixing the hood issues and a service note on it.
I adjusted the rubber nobs that is the recommended step 1. Helped a lot.

Did the dealer indicate that the problem could have eventually led to a failure of the bearings or other parts or was it just irritating to listen to?
