So awesome. Iām jealous I didnāt consider this for my upcoming road trips. Itās not too late to pivot I suppose, but Iāve already ordered an overlandish solo hub tent to put in the cab and have dustproof storage for the entire area under the bed cover soā¦. :/
youāve given me something to think...
i understand the desire to seal the tailgate, but have you seen all the holes at front of the bed near the cab and under the rails???? It's insane. The truck bed is almost an ram air setup with the holes in the front corners under the rail.
I'm not sure the bed can be sealed between that, the...
There are threaded holes ALL over the truck. Iāve wondered why may times. Iām guess production used them as mounting points for assembly and things of that nature.
Questions:
1 - Could you please take some overhead of the slides closed by the tailgate and behind the cab?
Your setup is exactly what I'm wanting to do (already have the cab molle panel) and the measurmeent make me think there is a gab behind the cab and wall when the slide is closed.
2 - Do...
I just did the Roof, rear wall, and rear floor sound deadening this weekend after doing the doors previously. Huge difference.
You definitely need to do the roof even thought it's a PITA.
Update: I finished installing sound mat in the rear wall, rear floor, AND Roof this weekend. I had already put material on the door previously.
HUGE difference.
I'm not saying this is the solution I'm looking for just yet, but everything sounds like it's one or more modes more quiet. i.e...
Same.
I often wake up in National park campgrounds to go get sunrise pics and I hate starting my vehicles an hour before sunrise to disrupt the piece. It always takes a while to idle down in any vehicle.
i have quiet mode start on all the time and wish it would actually "start" in quiet mode.
My current expedition and previous f150 have/had acoustic glass. At one point in the past when replacing glass it was an option to get a cheaper non-acoustic glass that lower trimmed f150 supposedly got.
That was the sales pitch anyways.
Acoustic glass is supposedly two layers of glass with a...
Thank you, i didn't even know there were pre-mufflers so that is something I'll look into.
I keep thinking the 3.0 explorer isn't as loud and annoying as the raptor, so surely there is some exhaust combo that can quiet it down without killing the performance since the explorer still does fine...
I've considered acoustic glass and different tires when these wear down (10k so far). The tire noise isn't the issue. Wind noise is not that much worse than other vehicles.
But i might change both when needed.
exactly. Suspension first, Engine second. same as me.
The exhaust sound was ALWAYS a deterrent, but i was hopeful the quiet mode would be enough. It is half the time, the other half i really find myself annoyed.
I do a lot of hunting and road trips camping offroad. Starting up a loud...
I had a 4 banger as a loaner while my ā24 expedition timberline was in the shop. Those till sound terrible.
Ironically my HO 3.5 in the expedition and my previous 5.0s in f150 were all extremely pleasant sounding. Thatās part of the irony is when I get an expedition it is whisper, quiet...
This may be the dumbest topic posted here because I know most people love the raptor exhaust and want to improve it.
I want the opposite. I crave silence as much as possible. I'm looking for any suggestion on how to achieve a quieter exhaust, even if it means removing the active exhaust system...
I canāt hear the noise on my 25 RR. Now my last 4 sets of tires on expedition and f150 are general grabber atx (barely audible), Nokian nAT (modest), cooper road and trail (weird hum) and bfg k02 (mild hum).
K03 is the most quiet by far (currently 9000 miles). I hear zero tire noise, just...
The incorrect fit isnāt so loose that itās instantly noticeable which is why Iām concerned many may have this issue.
The correct fit is a PITA to get latched. I doubt any tech will do it properly
The bottom is the dirty side. The top is they intake direct to the engine and the cover seals off the topside.
Iām going to ask my service writer about the issue and documenting it. Doubt there is much they can do but I have a great service department near me and they always was us take care...
After 8,000 miles on my 2025 RR i realized the airbox has not been properly installed the entire time from the factory. Shame on me for not checking immediately as i did check most other things, but this has my really ticked at the thought of how much dirty air my engine may have consumed as a...
I signed up for the September slot within minutes of getting the email weeks ago.
It'll be toward the front end of a 14 day road trip so maybe I'll learn a few things useful to implement while exploring southern UT and Colorado the week afterwards.
