For those who have the S&B CAI on a Ranger, can you change the filter without a lot of disassembly? I have an option to buy one with the oiled filter (which I don't really want), but they will send me the dry filter free as soon as it becomes available. There is some sort of production delay...
Putting weight aside, rolling deforms the tire going into and coming out of the contact patch, which requires power input. That power input isn't returned. The harder it is to deform the tire the more power it takes to roll. A more supple tire takes less power to deform than a more rigid tire...
I think you can fit a single behind the backseat and I think there are brackets for that location. Under the hood makes wiring really easy though. Just make sure you can still get to the fuse box.
These were just released for the Ranger.

I have a set of the universal RokBlokz that I modified for my Ranger, before the Ranger-fit version was available. I can confirm that they are built burly and protect well.
BOV noises are from the vent releasing unused boost pressure into the atmosphere. The stock valve recirculates the air, so theres nothing to really hear. Aftermarket BOV (Turbosmart) will make noises with or without your aftermarket CAI (maybe more noise with the aftermarket CAI, I duuno)...
Do you have a venting BOV installed too? BOV release venting sound is different than intake sound. If you have a stock recirculating BOV, an intake isn't going to make it vent.
Those bolts suck. There is a TON of red loctite on them and even once you start getting them to move, they are stubborn until the very end. Three of the four came out with a struggle, but the bolts were not stripped and were reusable. The fourth gave me drama. The bolt bent, and the torx...
I agree the oem ones are too low. If you like those you can often find them as takeoffs for free.
i replaced them with the Gorhino rb20 which sit a few inches higher and stick out farther. I might have gone with the rb20 slim if I did it again. They were easy to install other than removing...
I agree it’s a slick location, but they literally couldn’t have chosen a spot with a more complicated wire run on the truck. In fact, I started looking around for an extension harness that long and was told by a few people that running the oem wire spec in a run that long was not safe, so I...
I left room above the rocker switch and may put the chuck there. Running air through the bedside to that spot is the easy part.
did you use some sort of backing plate or anything to stabilize the chuck, or is it just supported by the plastic? Would be curious to see the details of how you did...
I actually have an ausmotion bracket to mount it in the bed wall on the passenger side but after poking around to figure it all out I decided it was going to make everything much harder and I decided against it. For that bracket I would have had to drill holes in the bed. I didn’t like how...
Yea, that sounds exactly like whats going on with mine. Pretty annoying glitch. I did all the Forscan work a while back and I'm rusty on it and wish I didn't have to reopen that can of worms.
My seatbelt warning keeps going off for the rear middle seat. The issue is primarily when someone is sitting in one of the other rear seats and the center seat is empty. Happens with kids or adults, so its not like Ive got a fat person taking up two seats or something. It goes away when I...
What about turning the fork mount 90 degrees so that the handlebars are in line with the bike frame? Haven't seen this done, but imagine it would work fine.
I finally got around to installing my ARB twin compressor onboard air setup this weekend. Wound up mounting it to my @American Adventure LAb bulkhead molle panel in the bed, towards the drivers side, which kept the wiring run relatively straightforward and avoided unnecessary length and...
If thats all they are for, then I have no problem just getting covering them up since Ive never used the feature. That said, im afraid @chasc might be right and they may be proximity sensors that activate outside of that feature in which case I will have to relocate them. Before I do anything...
