  1. Factory PPF Paint Protection Film - what’s covered? Worth the price?

By way of comparison, this yardstick shows where my aftermarket job ends, for both the hood and fenders.
  2. Factory PPF Paint Protection Film - what’s covered? Worth the price?

Yeah, that leading edge of the hood is a problem. The plastic faces down below seem to do OK because there’s just enough ā€œgiveā€ in the plastic. But a 70-degree metal plane is going to pick up a lot of chips.
  3. Rangers used by USA Military?

I love Poland. We were there last summer. You have a beautiful country full of wonderful people.
  4. Factory PPF Paint Protection Film - what’s covered? Worth the price?

It’s probably this, which isn’t a lot of coverage. I had the hood and fender edges done by a local shop and the hood portion goes almost halfway up the hood. What is Ford charging?
  5. Removing splash guard for oil changes

FWIW, my XL is a 4x4 and has plastic.
  6. Removing splash guard for oil changes

My XL has a plastic splash guard that must be removed every oil change. TBH, itā€˜a not a big deal. I had a 4Runner once that required to you drop a metal skid to change the filter. Now THAT was a PITA. Removing the splash guard is nothing compared to Ford’s retarded location for the oil filter...
  7. Rangers used by USA Military?

That’s awesome, but also makes me mad that we don’t get the Super Duty.
  8. 2025 2.3 Start-up CLUNK

Mine never happens on an ASS re-start, probably because the truck is already in gear. I did try shifting into 4WD and then back into 2WD yesterday, and haven’t heard it since, despite about 6 starts. So that’s good. Perhaps it is transfer-case related. Almost like some solenoid didn’t fully...
  9. 2025 2.3 Start-up CLUNK

It’s weird that this started cropping up on 2025s and, now, 2026s. Sounds like either a software change/issue, or an mis-manufactured part. I too suspect it’s the transmission. It’s violent, not like a duct or vent closing.
  10. 2025 2.3 Start-up CLUNK

If it’s a duct flap, it’s made of cast iron and slamming closed. I’m pretty worried about it. The ā€œhard clunkā€ version of it sounds like a rod is trying to escape the engine (it’s not the engine, tho).
  11. Just for Fun: If You Were the Ranger Designer, What Would You Change?

To everyone asking for a larger fuel tank: (a) I agree; I’d love to see ~27 gallons. (b) be glad you don’t drive a Tacoma, which is down to 18.2 gallons.
  12. 2025 2.3 Start-up CLUNK

Trying to figure out if this behavior is normal. On my 2025 2.3, I get a LOUD clunk from the engine bay about 1/4 of the time on start-up. It’s not the engine. It might be the transmission. It almost feels like there’s some part with some kind of clutch (trans?) that has 4 positions, and...
  13. Just for Fun: If You Were the Ranger Designer, What Would You Change?

Plenty of uses for that. Maybe you want to run a fridge the flat part, but still carry a passenger back there. That kind of stuff.
  14. Just for Fun: If You Were the Ranger Designer, What Would You Change?

JL Wranglers have excellent rear cameras. Full color, full resolution, good at night. Probably costs Stellantis an extra $4 per vehicle. Ford should do the same. It’s a safety feature.
  15. Just for Fun: If You Were the Ranger Designer, What Would You Change?

    * Bring back the metal front bumper. * Standard bed steps. * Kill ASS now that it’s no longer required. * Small air vent above the phone charging pad. * A ā€œstandardā€ driver display option with round speedo and tach.
  16. Stock Ranger Raptor vs. Beer o'Clock Hill

35s aren’t just for clearance. Obstacles just hit different on larger tires. Steps are easier to climb. Cracks are easier to traverse. The float is nice in all sorts of situations. And when you air down, you have more leeway. Please wheel extensively on 33s and 35s (I have) and then see if you...
