Yeah, that leading edge of the hood is a problem. The plastic faces down below seem to do OK because thereās just enough āgiveā in the plastic. But a 70-degree metal plane is going to pick up a lot of chips.
Itās probably this, which isnāt a lot of coverage. I had the hood and fender edges done by a local shop and the hood portion goes almost halfway up the hood.
What is Ford charging?
My XL has a plastic splash guard that must be removed every oil change. TBH, itāa not a big deal. I had a 4Runner once that required to you drop a metal skid to change the filter. Now THAT was a PITA.
Removing the splash guard is nothing compared to Fordās retarded location for the oil filter...
Mine never happens on an ASS re-start, probably because the truck is already in gear.
I did try shifting into 4WD and then back into 2WD yesterday, and havenāt heard it since, despite about 6 starts. So thatās good. Perhaps it is transfer-case related. Almost like some solenoid didnāt fully...
Itās weird that this started cropping up on 2025s and, now, 2026s. Sounds like either a software change/issue, or an mis-manufactured part. I too suspect itās the transmission. Itās violent, not like a duct or vent closing.
If itās a duct flap, itās made of cast iron and slamming closed. Iām pretty worried about it. The āhard clunkā version of it sounds like a rod is trying to escape the engine (itās not the engine, tho).
To everyone asking for a larger fuel tank:
(a) I agree; Iād love to see ~27 gallons.
(b) be glad you donāt drive a Tacoma, which is down to 18.2 gallons.
Trying to figure out if this behavior is normal. On my 2025 2.3, I get a LOUD clunk from the engine bay about 1/4 of the time on start-up. Itās not the engine. It might be the transmission. It almost feels like thereās some part with some kind of clutch (trans?) that has 4 positions, and...
JL Wranglers have excellent rear cameras. Full color, full resolution, good at night. Probably costs Stellantis an extra $4 per vehicle. Ford should do the same. Itās a safety feature.
* Bring back the metal front bumper.
* Standard bed steps.
* Kill ASS now that itās no longer required.
* Small air vent above the phone charging pad.
* A āstandardā driver display option with round speedo and tach.
35s arenāt just for clearance. Obstacles just hit different on larger tires. Steps are easier to climb. Cracks are easier to traverse. The float is nice in all sorts of situations. And when you air down, you have more leeway. Please wheel extensively on 33s and 35s (I have) and then see if you...
