People have been bitching that manufacturers dont give them enough options to choose and make too much stuff standard. Now, Ford offers the TBC as a reasonably priced option and people still bitch.
Its just proof that the average human being is an unsatisfied, unhappy, and self absorbed clown...
Nah. Its foolish of Ford to include the plug for easy install later. They are literally cutting out their own profits by doing that. They offer it as an option and if a customer needs it, they should buy the vehicle with it.
Maybe I'm the crazy one, but I spent about 6 months of on lot and on line research before I bought. My family eventually thought I was crazy because i probably spent a total of 20 hours at the local dealer after hours going through each truck they had. Im fortunate that my local dealer, Planet...
My 2025 Ranger XLT has the physical TBC. I got a Ranger with the Advanced Tow Package so it would have one. If you get the regular tow package it has a TBC in the center screen (in the software) that can be adjusted, its just not easy to grab the trailer brakes in the event of an emergency life...
I'm not sure why they would. If one doesn't order the Advanced Tow Package with the brake controller, it's absurd to think Ford would make it easy to add it in. 🤷♂️
No way I'd make that decision, either pay for it as a package or it'll be exceptionally hard to add it in yourself.
The Ford app is OK. I wish the lock/unlock and start functions communicated to the vehicle more efficiently (I want to push the button and have the outcome happen in under 3 seconds).
As for the privacy piece. I mean, lets be honest, the Ford app isnt going to get any information that isn't...
My 2025 XLT FX4 has a lean even when the fuel tank is basically empty. Its about 1/2 empty and 3/4 when full.
Does it bug me? Yes. Does it actually matter? Probably not.
Not necessarily. The structure holding the rooftop tent is the actual bed side. The clamping force used to attach the rack to the bed keeps the rack in place while the bed structure carries the load. The plastic caps are simply decorative and play no part (positively or negatively) in the...
Bed rail caps are never structural. They are just plastic trim pieces. Always.
As for the rack. It appears to me the inside of the rack lines up with the i.side of the bed side. Unless I'm mistaken.
If so, it looks fine.
Its more about the fact that in the real world 10%-12% tongue weight is when the trailer tows best. 15% is the max I've ever had and felt OK with. Under 10% the trailer sways easily and over 15% the tow vehicle can start to get squirrely.
I'd never be comfortable at 18% tongue weight.
You'll be fine. Try to get that tongue weight closer to 10%. 15% is MAX I'd want on any truck.
Just use an adjustable hitch so that you can get the trailer level once its hooked up and go have fun! That 2.7L will pull 5K lbs anywhere up and mountain with little sweat. With the brake controller...
