The wastegates uses electric actuators and not solenoids as far as I could see. My guess is indeed faulty actuator or too much play already in the wastegate itself
I'm keeping the story up to date for future reference.
When the fault is active the boost is very erratic. Sometimes no boost at all, sometimes 0.5b but very slow and jumpy getting there etc. Not fun to drive.
They hooked it up to their Ford software so it would be logged so to speak but they...
Called the dealer first thing in the morning and asked if I could stop by today so they could log the codes and go from there for an appointment.
"Not possible, we're swamped today and because it's Friday, the techs stop at 3 PM, can't help you." I was like, what? It's 5 mins to hook up the...
Code was gone after all ofc when going to the dealer so they couldn't log it.
But hey, it's back now and again no boost. Combined with code P2AB7, again the wrong "service soon" pop up and the wrench symbol instead of the check engine light.
I'll try to stop by the dealer tomorrow, again...
After sitting for 20 hours, the "service soon" pop up and wrench symbol are gone and boost/power is back.
The P2AB9 permanent fault code stays though, all the pending faults are gone. Any ideas?
So, got in the RR and got a "service soon" pop up and the wrench symbol.
Strange, had it happen once before a couple months ago but it never came back, service is ok. I don't have the CEL iluminated.
Immediately felt a lack of power and sure enough, no boost on the dash gauge. Checked the codes...
Any known other cases? I've sent an email to the dealer just now.

I get what you guys are saying and there is definitely truth behind it.
But at the end of the line, I still pay a very premium price (see the other comment) for, imo, shit pads. It would be a whole other story if they would just wear down instead of break down. Also the BS story from Ford about...
This can lead to endless discussions I'm afraid. Imho the pads should just wear down and not get glazed over, it's a sign the pads can't handle the heat the car is able to generate.
Let's say I consider the RR as a sporty truck and as I've said before I have other enthusiast cars but they get...
So you're saying metal doesn't cause suealing and the other guys says it does... ?
I would've done it myself and went for something like EBC but I'm still under warranty and thus bound to the dealer.
Chips were coming off, I don't know a better fitting word in English, sorry.
I live in a...
$1000 only for the pads, no rotors, but installed. Install only was like $140 though.
Like 1/3 of an inch left, 8-10mm. They were still really thick.
So do you work at a dealership or...?
Squealing was a new thing. Didn't occur the first 1.5 years and 30k kms.
Yes I went offroad like 1 or 2...
Back pads "needed" to be replaced and I've asked them to check the front ones bc I started to hear a light squeal when manoeuvring cold. I was expecting a regrease, not new pads.
Rotors are OK and as I said I drive sporty but nothing insane. Nothing that the engineers shouldn't have expected...
34k kms, 1.5 years old, easily still 8-10mm thick.
Warranty denied because: "This is possibly because of muddy/sandy water, perhaps when offroading so this can't be claimed."
First of all, complete BS, that's because of heat. I drive sporty but not like a maniac so the Fomoco pads just are...
That's really bad indeed.
I'm afraid this is going to be a shitshow. Still didn't hear from the dealer even after calling them "I know, I need to look into this but didn't have the time just yet, tomorrow" And I ofc didn't hear anything again. The owner is working from home after surgery and I...
I looked it up and apparently yes, didn't know they also did this with gas and not only diesel! From the start of october so I guess it's possible. I do also notice some weirdness in shifting, but perhaps it's all in my head.
I came from a manual daily to the RR and from the start I didn't like...
