And as of build times. Just left Dearborn assembly last week. ( Not MAP)
Anyway, since the lightning is killing shifts, they are ramping up MAP for a 3rd shift.
However, this ramp up is not planned till April.
Shortly after that hopefully things will be down to more reasonable times.
I have a...
As of gearing, they are mostly all geared high even on the F150. This is for gas milage however, if you have driven one for awhile you might have learned that unless you are driving above 80 all the time you can do better locking out the last gear or two.
This is because you are dogging it down...
Aslo, if you are in at retail should be receiving the emails from customer relations.
They are also messing them up and sending out blanket noticed.
Specially the one dated Jan 3rd.
Myself, like many others received the same notice.
I happen to be at the plant this week, we ran a report and...
Also received the above message Jan 3.
However, I am at the factory ( Not MAP) and checked scheduling computer and find the Raptor already has a VIN and is scheduled for build in March.
The VIN was issued in mid December and also noticed it originally was scheduled for Feb but changed to March...
Priority numbers typical 20~80 are for dealer stock and on the back burner. Retail are 10 ~20 and have higher priority, closer to 10 being better. Orders 9 or under can be requested by regional managers only. Some exceptions would be what parts are available so not always will the lower number...
So the numbers are out and from all the so called job 1 reports of not starting. As seen and knew a 100 or more were built, the number that is now out in the public is actually 259 units built before the strike.
You are actually correct as well. I have talked about how the flow works and what is required at each step. Does not mean things can't go wrong in this process at any point. IN the case of Mavericks and other, mostly new design stuff hiccups happen.
Parts are defective, jigs and things did not...
Sorry if all that seems to be bad news.
However, there is some good news!
Most of the parts suppliers are not union or not effected. So they have some time for catch-up to stockpile parts and by the time they fully start back up, parts for lots of builds should be available.
Build build build...
That would be the case as the lines can't run long without the paint shop anyway. The bodies are made completely onsite. The blank panels are made at Detroit stamping and DKP/DKPI along with a few other places but all the MAP and 150 parts come from these places. It gets in depth from here but...
Checked last Thursday and production was stopped at MAP. If you are waiting for an F150 the lines are still running for the moment at Dearborn. Do not have personal knowledge of what is or not on the line or if stuff was stopped in the middle.
JIT is an important part of manufacturing however it has it's flaws! Although the idea would be to have a date for all the parts to be available and set the build date. Great on paper, a total disaster in real life for something that is waiting for 100 vendors and over a thousand parts. Issuing...
Hay, that dealer has 55k for 2023 XLT's. Feel really bad for anyone to pay that for a 2023. Guess they figure somebody wants one today, here it is; now pay are ransom...
Yep, publishing a VIn is not a big deal as they are not like hidden or something.
Now that you have that info you can follow the order here;
Ford Vehicle Order Tracking Home
You are correct and the dealer tosses in whatever they want to charge. This was unheard of years ago except for some real rare stuff. Now they try to do it with everything. Basically, they are tossing a finger to the manufacture and customers. Manufactures hate it but cannot fix that part. What...
You are correct many have paid the 5 or 10k over some likely more. On the RR it could be understood as the first RR available. Looking at their site I see they have ADM on everything. This is very frowned apon from the manufacture. At lest they are open about it as many you don't find out till...
Think I understand why they still had the 1 unit available after looking at the dealer's site.
They have advertised prices for 53k for 2023 rangers.... LOL most are dumping these outdated trucks. The first I have seen 12k over on a 2023. Some of these dealers are just nuts and think they can get...
One other thing you might not noticed in the earlier post. When it said the orders opened on May27th every dealer could place an order for 1 and only one per dealer. Seeing this order June 5th it is the one and only 1 they could order. However, before a VIN is issued changes can be made to an...
