PS: loosely bolt it all up with every bolt. After all are in then you can tighten it.
Also the small bolts given for the lovers are junk and will hardly work, Get some SS and bigger fender washers, as the ones given will fall though the hole and barely bit the plastic.
Wish they would have just...
If your talking about the nut with the wire weld on it? It is for the bar that goes off to the side. It mounts to a hole in the frame gusset that is hard to get to the top side.
And about that hole mess! They want you to take off much of the front of the truck to slightly enlarge 2 hole that go...
Here is some pictures of the connectors, Raptor, and F150 pinouts. The one with the extra wire is the F150. The connector with the little black wires is going up to the taillight. Nothing accessible behind the taillight so no point in taking that apart.
The stupid spacers they give with the...
The bracket supplied is a generic bracket. It is a flat cut piece that looks like a 10" key, it has notches for bending to what you need. I am out of the country at the moment but will take some more pictures when I get home mid week.
Took me a minute to understand what Dajo was talking about...
Yes, the 6pin Pollak comes with the Nighhawk, Mine was broken so E-trailer sent me a new one. The bracket comes with the Roadmaster Baseplate. YOu have to bend it to fit and cut off a little. The screw and pace to mount it is all ready in place! The bolt being one removed from the intercooler...
Everything in this thread is for the Roadmaster Baseplate/bracket. Not sure why you would want to change the 6pin with a 4pin as everything you need comes with the parts you mentioned. The bracket is for the 6 pin, if you latter want to add a charge cable or something else the 6 pin has the...
As of the taillights I have been meaning to double check this. Have towed a couple thousand miles since the setup. As mentioned from the Lariat seems to be only the side LED's. Wonder if something different than the Raptor...
Anyway, when I get home will put this question to bed permanently by...
I would check in shade or darker. It is kind of a dull glow and changes to sharp bright brake/turn.
The side part is textured different that gives a red look like any other marker light.
The C part has a texture that gives it a neon look, quit different.
Once you see it at night it is fine
You are saying the light that comes on is the top/light in the taillight assembly?
IT only uses one. The top C and what seems like the side of the taillight is the same light/circuit.
It is dim so hard to see if it is in sunlight.
If that is the case, it sounds like it is correct.
No other...
If you want to add can use these diodes. These are 5 amp and should be fine but can get about any current rating you want. They are small enough that could put one in the boot in the front Pollak connector. Although nobody has mentioned it . Would suspect the brake/turn wire is the same issue so...
This is how it should be.
IT seems they have the diode going to the back light and not the truck wire as it should be.
Also note that the Curt harness does not have a diode on the brown wire going back to the towing vehicle, this is noted in several threads and is what causes the tow vehicle...
Humm,
Maybe I wrote something wrong?
The top C works fine for the driving lights.
Don't see any post that says that as well, maybe missing it.
Anyway, if it is as I was reading.
Turn/Brake = OK ( top C bright)
Driving lights = not working in the back but side and other driving lights turn on? (...
PS: when I was first looking for wire harnesses, found quit a few complaints about this sort of thing with other Curt harness. They are assembled in Mexico as I recall.
Should probably mention several people suggested plugging them in first before installing in the vehicle to be sure they have...
Reading your post again. It seems as if the diodes are wrong in the Curt Harness. The taillights should be on but not the marker lights.
This means the output is blocking the taillight and sending power back in to the truck.
That sucks but the diodes are wrapped up in the wire loon just towards...
Interesting, I use on a Raptor.
Above has another guy with a Lariat, his seem to work. He might have a comment.
Might want to look closely as we did notice a difference that is noted in these threads.
When the trucks driving lights are on, both the top and bottom C work on the taillights. With...
It was more than Entailer, I had to buy the QD's as well purchased the tow bar (roadmaster/nighthawk) bought it for Blue Ox.
I still have the Blue Ox Parts.
The base plate itself as I recall was around $550.
Etrailer drug there ass and was giving a run around saying weeks, months and keep...
Well it seems maybe late for some but have sorted this out for some time.
Blue Ox was a disaster to work with and finely gave up on them in July after 3+ months.
The wiring is the same as the earlier F150 curt 52013 plugs right in with the same pinout. The one listed for Ranger will not work...
