I had a MX4 on my SD for about 6 months. I never could get it to not leak and it got oven hot inside. I got rid of it and put a topper on it. On the Ranger I got a Leer clamshell. No leaks.
A.R.E makes great toppers. I have one on my super duty. The only thing I would steer clear of is the electronic locks. My first one failed due to water intrusion. The dealer installed the second one and it did the same thing. I bought one and installed it myself and it has done well. If I do it...
DOT requires red reflectors in all tail lights. I guess that's where ford decided to put them. I'm hoping someone like Morimoto will develop an after market tail light.
There is a 12 volt receptacle in your center console under the arm rest. you could just plug a USB adapter in that and run your wire through the console to your GPS. I'm curious about your mounting rail. I have a 24 XLT and have been looking for something like that.
I have two rules that I follow when towing. 80% max payload and nothing that weighs more than my tow vehicle. That's just my set of rules. Others will have a different opinion but that's mine.
It says it may interfere with cameras and sensors of any kind. Mine has cameras, sensors and radar all over the front. I'll be interested to see if it does interfere.
I don't think Amazon, Google, Facebook and Mr Musk are collecting and sharing data such as driving habits, location, and camera images from your truck. You know, things that your insurance company might be interested in.
OnStar got in trouble for selling this data to insurance companies and...
You said you were pulling a travel trailer which made me think of that. When I pull mine at every stop I check the heat on my trailer and truck because they do tend to heat up under those conditions.
They use clip nuts that have to go behind the wheel well trim.. It's really tight to get between the trim and ths metal tabs the trim attaches to. And your doing it blind. getting the holes to line up can be tricky. I broke one clip and lost another. I keep a supply of those so no big deal...
After months of waiting I finally got a set of Weathertech mud flaps. I've always put these on my trucks and they work great. They were a bit of a pain to put on but I think they look great.
68 yo, squeaky clean driving record, extensive drivers training, and drive less than 4k a year. $4600 year. But I do live in metro Atlanta which is like playing Russian roulette on the road.
I personally would not tow a 33' travel trailer with a Ranger. The truck is way to light to handle that big of a trailer. Travel trailers are really big wind sails. You will be pushed all over the road by cross winds and passing trucks. I tow my 28' with an F250 and would not use anything less.
I'm not sure how it does it but when I'm plugged into the truck and driving the truck does charge the trailer battery. Some trucks are always hot at the pin and others are hot only when driving. The best way to know is test the pin when the truck is off and then on. I just use a test light on...
