  1. What did you DO TO your 6G Ranger today? 🧰 🛠️ ⚙️ 🧽

Bent a piece of aluminum into a J or L shape so it can hook over the plastic next to the glove box. Wrapped it in PET cloth tape. Added some felt to the back of it to support the lower section and protect the trucks plastic. Stuck a mag mount onto the result. Mag Mount...
  2. What did you DO TO your 6G Ranger today? 🧰 🛠️ ⚙️ 🧽

Found a way to add a phone mag mount that is accessible but out of the way and not up on the dash. Also, easily removable. Just open the glove box and slide it out to the right.
  3. My Ranger in 4×4 on Outer Banks beaches

So much this. I cringe when I see these videos of groups in "built" honda passports and subarus going down 4x4 trails. they need to get up to 15+ mph to make it up some inclines, bouncing their underside off the terrain and relying on traction control systems while their wheels spin madly in...
  4. 2025 RR / Newbie Q. No lights on door open an option?

Isn't there a toggle switch up on the ceiling where you can set it to on, off or on with door open? Can't help you with the displays / dash. If you're worried about the battery, bring a jump pack. The truck does have a low power mode it goes in when voltage is below a certain level. It'll also...
  5. Teaser – Modular Chase Rack Development for the Ranger BASE System

How about a way to secure a bottle jack, base plate and axle cradle attachment?
  6. Cutting a hole in the truck bed for a storage cubby. Has anyone done this?

Personally, I'm using molle panels with molle bags. Easy enough to install. Customizable. Removable with no permanent modification. Panels themselves don't take up bed space. https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/new-product-launch-ranger-molle-bed-panels-exclusive-ranger6g-discount.20795/...
  7. American Adventure Lab relocate plug installed

Sounds like a "move along" response. Just load the connector(s) with dielectric grease as should be done regardless of position.
  8. Crooked steering wheel after alignment

Yup. On my old vehicle they ended up having to have two people, one person in the vehicle centering the steering wheel and the other snugging up the bolts. Not sure if that was totally necessary, but that's the attempt where it came out straight. Keep in mind, now that you're sensitive to it...
  9. Prices on new 25 w Adapt Cruise. Tech Pkage , towing options, some w 301a .. low prices?

I don't think there are issues, just market forces. Might be more inventory or mfg to dealer kickbacks.
  10. Crooked steering wheel after alignment

They must have the new guy doing the alignment. I haven't gotten my ranger aligned, but had this happen with an older vehicle. It's fixable, and should be easier for them considering there is a center line on the steering wheel.
  11. Cutting a hole in the truck bed for a storage cubby. Has anyone done this?

Curious to see how this turns out. In the video it looked like that bed was some sort of plastic composite. The ranger bed being metal will be much more difficult to cut, but definitely doable.
  12. Chase RAIL - Baja Designs SS2 Flush Mount

Got my rails in. Will be mounting some cargo boxes on them. Got them painted up and added a nice little accent! These are quality parts. I can't believe how light they are. I'll need to work out some flood lights for them in the future, but for now keeping it simple. Excited to use them.
  13. How much "extra" power does the alternator supply?

It was 150 on car and driver, not sure why 170 was stuck in my head. Was the only place I could find it back when I was looking. That document looks like it's targeted for the AUS market. We don't get a turbo diesel here, and ford sure likes to dial things back for the US market (no rear ac...
  14. How much "extra" power does the alternator supply?

Pretty sure google confuses the ranger raptor with the f150 raptor. I believe the RR has a 170 amp alternator. I looked it up a while ago. I'll see if I can find the link. As for the trucks needs, that is variable. I want to say you have about 30% of that 170 amps to safely play with.
  15. 3.0 eco boost engine intake valves and direct injection!

It is direct injection only. How do I know? I went out to my garage and looked under the hood. 10 years from now we're still going to be talking about this.
  16. Insurance costs relative to other vehicles

I saw a big drop when I switched from my 04 GTI. If your vehicle has safety features like AEB and rear cross traffic alert, etc, they generally result in a big discount, to where you pay less for insurance than an older less safety equipped vehicle.
  17. Condor 2 XXL- Air Roof Top Tent

I have the Condor 2 XL, non Air. It's a great tent. There are cheaper options, and probably better quality options out there. It weighs a ton. I have it on top of a trailer. I think it's around 250 lbs. I'd not put this on my ranger if I were also doing any sort of trails. I'd look at something...
  18. Insurance costs relative to other vehicles

Which company did you go with? I switch pretty much annually if they try to increase my rates more than 3%. That's a pretty good rate. I pay about $1022 annually for my ranger raptor (Geico).
  19. Let's Talk Bed Storage

I have the same inflator, will have to pick up the mount in the future! I have an EGO chainsaw but am probably going to switch to Milwaukee M18 14" top handle in the next year or so to simplify battery needs. Top handle seems to be more compact--haven't looked too deep into it yet to see...
