Does this make the inter cooler worthless? Seems like it but it does look amazing. If the overcooked performance is reduced I'm out. But you can probably oh just not mount lights theere
Looks like I ran into an ASA problem. ASA is printed on a much higher bed temp, thus when cooling the parts shrink, I need to do some test prints to accommodate this issue, likely going to be a few days, I'll be back, thx
Are we able to do a vote on here? Actually I can probably design both. Hole alignment was actually the hardest part to get right, as I am measuring by hand.
If you guys have ideas for design patterns, please sketch them up, and post them as images here. I am not an artist so I am sure someone...
OK guys,
I got the step in, and it sits on the wheel perfectly. Notice this ring is flush with the 'arms' of the wheel.
QUESTION: Do we want the trim ring thicker to prevent scratches? Send feedback.
QUESTION: Do we want to add holes for ALL of the beadlock threads ... it's a lot and will...
I will test it offroading to know for sure. I think it will be ok as there are bolts holding it down.
I also do gold prospecting as a hobby, and I printed a custom sluice box (a good size one). Like this I had to print it in parts. I used PETG, and nothing has broken on it, and its been in the...
Hey John!
Good call on the superglue. I am using this for now for prototyping. But you're right I'll need to swap over to something more temperature friendly. I will likely ship the trim rings unglued as this will be much cheaper. We can look for a good glue on Amazon so it is easy for everyone...
I can help. There is a learning curve for many specific things but just a basic print with PLA is just load, select filament , and hit play.
Cool everyone. When I get this dialed in with fitment, I'll test them and see what's up and then I can work on getting people's names.
Again, you will...
My truck is cactus
Dude we could do whatever we want? We can print an astronaut on them.
this idea is actually makes the most sense I'll eventually work on this
I have Cactus Gray, so yeah I'll definitely be doing them first. Just FYI the colors offered in the filament is not exactly our truck colors, but it's pretty close.
we could probably come up with a clever way to use them on the normal wheels, like tough clip-on's or something. I have those for my tesla to prevent rim scraping. Maybe I can work on this after.
these are just the ring trims. You take off the 6 bolts that hold the trim on and you bolt these on. These are trim only and cannot be used to lock the bead in. It's for flare only.
Yeah I didn't forget about it. I already have it modeled. I just didn't print it yet as I had a lot of trouble...
That is easy, but would take more time, as It takes some of test prints to get the hole alignment. I'll work on this next as an option, I find Mechanical Modeling fun.
I actually bought the ford performance beadlock rings for $850 or whatever it was, and now I am thinking I might return them...
So I can print some for people on here. I will charge for the plastic, and maybe some for printer time, as 3D printers have consumable parts, like the nozzles, and a few other parts but it's not much.
As for material: I am thinking ASA, as it is pretty robust, still quite cheap, and water...
