Mine did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I got onto the freeway onramp. While accelerating to get up to speed the truck changed modes to Baja Mode at about 70mph without me touching the mode knob. I quickly swapped back to Normal mode.
A little heat will soften the adhesive, then they should come off. I'm planning to remove mine as well. As for regulations in the US there are no laws preventing the "owner" of the vehicle from removing them. Dealers and businesses cannot remove them legally.

They are loud, noisy and run a lot. Belt driven fans are quiet compared the electric. My RR fans run a lot but no more than my other cars with electric fans.
There are a number of Facebook group you should join. Dealers post there inventory at MSRP or below. I've seen some at invoice get posted. I've been looking for an R but prices are too much. Lots of 801 and 802 packages out there under MSRP if you are willing to ship or fly and drive home...
