  1. The Black Beast of AAAAGGGHHHHHH!

I used Loctite blue...and still procrastinating that trip to Aubuchon hardware for the two missing M8x1.25 bolts for the corner tie-down
  2. The Black Beast of AAAAGGGHHHHHH!

quoting an old TV commercial: "that was precisely my hypothenuse"...I guess I can try to shake a couple of tiedowns out of the dealer then; I notices a couple of people here did that...why not? they charge enough for trucks these days anyway (gosh, I sound like an old faaht!)
  3. SHADOW BLACK Ranger Club Thread

    STX, FX-4....because I'm bad, I'm bad.....
  4. The Black Beast of AAAAGGGHHHHHH!

Picked mine up at the dealer today....on in 15 minutes, however; word to the tri-fold-tonneau wise: if you are like me and bought one of those (mine is a Gator), the lock handle on the side of the box gets in the way of the darn box. The solution? chop off about 1-1/2" off the end of the handle...

Ordered my pivot storage box (passenger side) today using Fordpass points! ...be here in 4 days https://accessories.ford.com/kit-tool-storage-box-lockable-12175.html Also, has anyone else received their Rangers with 4 cargo bed hooks instead of six?...I just noticed I'm short the two middle...
  6. The Black Beast of AAAAGGGHHHHHH!

Figured a comparison of what you got back in 1994, 1998, and 2019 might be interesting...especially since I found my window stickers (a.k.a. maroneys-sp) from both my old Rangers: Look at what we used to get for standard features on those things, especially what they called "off road...
  7. The Black Beast of AAAAGGGHHHHHH!

Of course, the beauty of the 2" hitch receiver is that all my hitch accessories that I bought for my Forester fit nicely on the Ranger, like my Tyger 4-bycicle carrier and especially my Curt cargo carrier, for those occasions when a 5' bed is not big enough for say, a dump run :like:. I have...
  8. The Black Beast of AAAAGGGHHHHHH!

The latest add-on were the Weathertech trays. The Truck came with vinyl floors, which I prefer over carpet for ease of cleaning, though I noticed that the vinyl used for this looks a little wimpy; enter the floor trays, which arrived today! The front trays come with stick-on anchoring nipples...
  9. The Black Beast of AAAAGGGHHHHHH!

Well, here we go... I am not really planning a "build" for my truck, so this is just to document some mods/add ons for the benefit of others; at the most, I might eventually throw in a set of leveling spacers or longer coil springs like I did with my first Ranger, a '94 XL 3.0 manual with the...
  10. Oil Catch Can. Yes or No?

not exactly, I was talking about a residue analysis of the substances collected in the catch can to get an idea of carbon build up; I realize not all will end up on the valves because it is intended to be burnt along with the fuel mixture
  11. Oil Catch Can. Yes or No?

The next thing to do here would be a carbon deposit experiment, putting the residue from the catch can and (in a well ventilated area) heat it up to about 210ºF until the liquid evaporates and see what is left after that. That will give you an idea of what will be coating your intake valves....
