I had a Ford block heater installed in my 24 Ranger at the dealership because it did not come with one from the factory. I am wondering if anyone else who has a block heater can let me know how their cord is attached at the bumper. On my 5G Ranger, there was a clip attached to the bumper that...
When I measured mine up it looked it was just the bolt holes by the tailgate that were different. That was a Gen 5 Lariat to a Gen 6 FX4 Lariat. I will know for sure in the next few weeks as the weather improves and I can get to installing.
Not sure if this is normal or not, but my drive mode knob sticks engaged when you turn it right or left. I feel like it should be a lot smoother and return to center immediately after releasing it, but that is not the case.
If its not normal, I will take it in for service. How is everyone elses?
Yes, I have definitely found that the 24 Lariat seat is not as comfortable as the last gen. Not sure exactly what Ford did, but its a downgrade. Quality of the leather seems lower as well.
I rate my Lariat FX4 Wranglers as low/poor in snow and ice. In 4x4 they are fine, but in 2wd it is much easier to break the back end loose then it was on my last gen Ranger Lariat.
Once you know how easy it is to break loose, adapting your driving is enough to overcome it, but I expected more...
I always thought they were pretty standard up here too. Looks like when the original buyer ordered the truck they didn't include one and the dealership didn't catch it. They ended up cancelling the order and I bought the truck off the lot. Didn't realize until it was too late that it didn't have...
I really want to know what the hell Ford has put into the block heater cord that it costs $533.25
That is just the cord, the heater is on top of that.
For that price it better go outside and plug itself in.
I am in Canada, and my truck did not come with a block heater, I ordered one in August, backordered with no ETA from Ford. Its been cold off and on here, I park outside, was -30C today (-22F) and it started up just fine.
Majority of garage fires or house fires here in the winter is from...
How are you triggering Alexa? My steering wheel button is short press SYNC, long press Google Assistant.
Whenever I ask sync to set the climate controls, she just errors out.
Mine has done it from day 1, so I don't think its a recent update or anything else. And as recently as last weekend it was still doing it. I asked the service manager about it, he had never heard of it before. I don't think they have sold many next gen rangers yet, so its a small sample pool to...
I have found some patterns to when mine pops up. If I have the truck in accessory, then start it, it asks me what trailer is connected every time. It has to just be a software glitch of some sort. I have never had it switch to Tow mode by itself, but I do find my selector knob is difficult to...
I wanted to add some additional bed lighting to my truck, and was thinking of just tapping the existing bed light harnesses. Likely using a T-Tap or something like that. I am concerned about warranty. I know in the USA its a bit different as you have customer protections, but anyone know how...
I am reviving this thread hoping that I will get more feedback from Canadian owners. I have a Lariat and my headlights do NOT do this. I only have the cornering lights.
They do the auto calibration on startup.
