I learned this the hard way
bought a 2025 RR a couple months ago
wanted a keypad so I got on Ford Accessories website, registered, keyed in my VIN to make sure the accessories I viewed would fit my 2025
searched for a keypad, one came up and I used my reward points to purchase
didn’t read...
We’re not talking “warranty “….you’re on the wrong thread
We’re discussing how to get any future software updates to the ProCal from Ford’s server to the truck
that path has to be Ford server to a computer to the tuner and then to the truck….
unless Ford comes up with an automated “push” of...
Good point AlpineBike
might be worth a conversation/negotiation with the dealer service manager for an installation price that includes any future updates
I wish I would have thought this through more when I bought my 25 RR…..would have been much easier to get the above in that negotiation
There’s also a 15% discount coupon code that can be used on the Ford Accessories website. Not sure how long it runs for but it worked for me.
REDEEM425
they told me it’s best to use either Chrome or Microsoft Bing browsers when entering coupon codes and using reward points toward the purchase
Fair enough
I write software for a living and have learned the hard way….when someone tells me that a simple software change to A….won’t effect B, I am
Immediately skeptical and insist on a test
we call it “regression testing”
I appreciate your point, though
the dealership I use has a...
He told me:
40 mins to install
1:20 to verify and test
as an IT developer with 30+ years of experience
I can understand (and appreciate) a thorough testing phase
One interesting point that was made to me…..was to download the software to your own computer and not let the installer, if other than yourself, use their computer
that way you always have possession of it
I was pleasantly surprised when I ask the dealer’s parts guy when it would be available...
I can top that…..
took me a year (All the while cussing GM) that the steering wheel controls for stereo volume and track advance…on my 2021 ZR2
were on the backside of the steering wheel and designed like paddle shifters ?
and in hindsight, I like them better than the little buttons my raptor...
These arguments reminds me of…
a 60+ year old guy going to a “gentleman’s “ club and thinks the 22 yr old woman is really attracted to him
20 percent of my driving is within roads with a 35 mph speed limit
but I still like having more hp
now, in hindsight, that analogy doesn’t make any sense...
It’s a bit confusing
Cuz, the desktop version appears to show you can get the 2025 version….I could even pay for it, though I stopped before I actually did
I tried to search on this forum and Google before posting…
if I’ve disabled the annoying start/stop feature
then, double tap on the “R”aptor icon on the steering wheel to enable that feature
it cancels my start/stop disable command
is that typical ?
Silly me…. I didn’t realize it wants premium
I’ve only had the truck for 10 days and I’m still on the original tank of fuel the dealer provided
guess that removes one of my decision points…and probably the most important one
I’m going to get the tune when it finally gets released
thanks for...
I’m still on the fence as to whether I get this done when they come out with the 2025 version
my dealer said 2 hrs labor to install and verify/test it….so $400
plus the tuner
plus the added fuel cost for having to run premium gas
