I like my 2024 Ranger Lariat a lot, and somewhere on this site is a post I wrote describing why I really prefer it over the new Tacoma. FWIW, I'm less sure I would buy it again now, and the reason is the transmission. The engine (2.7) is a wonderful thing; the transmission I've found less so...
I agree with Bruce - there is no chance I would go near the engine bay with a power-washer. Get the shopvac and follow up with a rag with some WD-40 on it or something. Water is never going to voluntarily get into my engine bay, certainly not power-washing...
if you search the forum, I think you'll find for most people the short stubby eshifter was not a popular choice. It takes some getting used to as it's kind of cumbersome to your hand - you just have to try it to see what I mean. I have it, I'm totally used to it, and it's not a problem, but...
So, I do have the lean, but on checking that out today, I also noticed something else & am wondering if it's related or if other people have this too. It seems to me my driver's side rear wheel is slightly inset (into the wheel well) while the passenger side rear wheel is slightly offset (out...
hi, I like the look of that bag! Question: I have a tonneau, does the bag fit under it with tonneau closing normally? Just asking because you said you have a tonneau, and just in the amazon pictures it looks like the bag would sit up too high? We'd be looking for this to hold a couple of...
here in Canada, I've found we can't buy the warranty from Grainger (or maybe we can, but can't use it - don't remember the details, just that it doesn't really work for us), and so it ends up being more expensive. I did use the Grainger quote in negotiating it down with the dealer here, and...
I passed on the GM twins for several reasons, but mostly the engine. I have the 24 Ranger 2.7, and the 6-cylinder makes a significant difference to me, it's just so smooth. Also the GM twins (or at least the Canyon) has this system where it cuts out 2 of the cylinders if the system figures you...
That may well be & I didn't say anything to the contrary. Just wanted the OP to know the result is "meh" and not earth-shattering before they spend $2 grand or whatever. Seems like worth knowing.
to the OP: just so you know, the heated steering wheel (at least on my 24 Lariat) is not like other heated steering wheels I've had. It doesn't stay toasty-warm. It warms up "ok" for about 10 minutes and then goes down to very lukewarm. It's sort of meh.
You did say above somewhere though that adaptive learning had been turned off, so I don't know that the "learning stage" will improve without that?
My transmission has smoothed out considerably after about 3,000 miles. I will say I still get a barely noticeable whine in low gears at times, and...
I'm not using anything. The driver's seat on my Lariat has the 'leather' all distended with insufficient support and the left outer edge is clearly going to chafe on the very hard-edged plastic right up against it, and I've sort of resigned myself to the fact that it's crap and is only going to...
There's someone on another post who did exactly that, had the Lariat wheels coated in black, and actually they looked great.
The dealer swapped out my Lariat wheels for XLT wheels when I bought the truck (just got lucky, some guy was just buying an XLT and thought of the Lariat wheels as an...
I find the wireless charging highly useful on longer trips.
I have the Lariat and find the B&O sound system quite underwhelming; the output is barely sufficient for me.
It's off-topic, in that we can all agree the Ranger doesn't use lithium anyways.
But since some of you look like you have a lot of knowledge in this area, and we're already offtopic anyways, let me ask you:
In addition to the Ranger, I have a hybrid car (BMW) with a regular AGM battery and a...
The Rangers come with lithium batteries? I thought they came with AGM.
Pretty sure you're right. The lithium battery is in my hybrid, and when I checked into it, it appeared the battery tender does nothing to charge the lithium battery anyways, only the regular battery. But a moot point for...
