I think it has to do with the humidity sensor. If the humidity is above a certain threshold, the AC acts to reduce the humidity. Mine comes on often, but not always, even when itās sub freezing.
I just picked my truck up from the dealer. It took longer than they expected, but everything seems put back together correctly and all lights and switches work correctly.
Youāre going too long between rotations. Donāt go more than 8k km. You might need to rotate every 6.5k km for softer rubber tires. I had to rotate every 6.5k on my jeep because of the tire compound.
Thereās a spot on the Glenn about 8-10mi east of the matanuska glacier view where I got airborne unintentionally a couple of months ago going 70ish mph; that was jarringly not fun, but no damage done.
Your beadlock observation is well warrantedā¦
Keep in mind that the wheel he wants to use has a +20mm offset vs the +55mm offset and a width of 9ā vs stock 7.5ā. He might be ok and should probably talk to a reliable tire shop about the fit up. I didnāt for for my setup because Iāve done this before and had a backup plan to use 0.5ā spacers...
More sidewall means more tire flex, whether deflated for offroad or normal pressure on road. Less sidewall means the opposite, less flex in both pressure scenarios. Sidewall flex also impacts cornering, which is why performance cars have only a couple of inches for sidewalls.
When you deflate...
@blm28164, for me, the 18ā Wheels are fine when you consider that I drive on road >95% of the time. When using the same height (32ā) and width tire on either a 17ā or 18ā wheel, the expected performance differences would be more tire flex (ability to absorb bumps) on a 17ā wheel and stiffer...
Iād consider using a wireless trailer 3-camera setup. Easy install and complete side and rear view.
Iāve even used wireless cameras to connect with my iPad or iPhone on my Jeep as forward and undercarriage points of view. You can see one between the light bar and the winch.
I just used Forscan a couple weeks ago to recalibrate the speedometer and reset the displayed mileage computer. Iām consistently getting 21.5 to 22.4mpg with a mix heavier on the city and highway driving (speeds under 70mph; the speed limit in Alaska is 65).
Tire calibration
I worked in the GPS industry for 20yrs, the last 8 of which I was a Product Manager interacting with the chip designers, core navigation engineers, embedded engineers, and test engineers. The precision products we developed were used in a wide variety of dynamic applications. I know for a fact...
Since I couldāt find a Ranger specific video to show the calibration process and I messed it up the first time I attempted it, I made a video of the last refinement that I made after correcting the errors I had made at first. I hope this 8min video saves someone else the time and frustration I...
I found this video on YouTube for an F150 and it was close enough to help me understand and resolve the issues.
The correct steps are:
1) Access the BCM Configuration tool, locate the Tire Circumference and update the diameter as needed.
2) Write the settings, then cycle the truckās power. Note...
