Iām waiting on the BDS leveling kit (2.5in). I think the coil top-hat lifts are junk and a poor manās or at least uniformed manās answer to a quick solution. They will suffer mechanical damage in the long run, IMO.
A 1/4 wavelength antenna has 6db less gain than a full wavelength antenna. A 1/8th wavelength antenna has 3db less gain than a 1/4 wave antenna. Likewise, 50KW is 3db less than 100KW. So in a non-urban area, the stubby antenna is a 6db disadvantage or a 4x disadvantage compared to the stock...
Iāve worked in radio technologies for 40yrs⦠shorter antenna means less signal reception, simple as that. The antenna from the factory was a fractional wavelength, and they only made it worse when they changed it out.
I drove the gen5 Ranger lariat 2.3L 4x4 for 3yrs and I got 22.4 mpg around town and 26mpg on the highway. Unless all his driving is on the highway at 55mph, I donāt see how heās getting 28mpg.
In the gen6 Ranger lariat 2.7L FX4, Iām getting 18.4mpg consistently around town with 2,600miles.
If you make it up to the Palmer /Wasilla area, get breakfast at The Noisy Goose. I just got home from there and I usually go there several times a week.
I thought I read somewhere on Fords' website that the projector headlights on the Lariat and Raptor are self-leveling. I think that's why they go through a self test every time the headlights are turned on. I could be wrong, but that's what I recall.
I had the 2.3L in my ā21 Ranger Lariat 4x4 (not the FX4). It had āenoughā power for around town, commuting, and lite towing (I never towed more than 3,500 lbs). But I want to tow a travel trailer up to 6,000ish pounds and I worried that it would be too much for the 2.3 on grades; there is a...
@bogarma Iāll share a couple a couple of earlier posts that I've made on this topic below. I'm currently waiting on BDS Suspension to finish their design and testing of a 2.5" leveling suspension lift (not just a spacer; new shocks, coils, top hat, and differential relocation bracket). If you do...
If you can find specs on the spring rate for the coils and leaf springs and damping and rebound rates of the shocks between the trim levels you can better estimate the expected change in performance. Otherwise, itās a seat of your pants comparison; and everyoneās pants fit differntly...
It has a push release latch. Iāve never had a problem with the fuel door on any Ford vehicle of the many Iāve owned. Push on the door at the back-end and it should pop open.
My 2021 4x4 (not FX4) Lariat Ranger suspension was way too bouncy over any kind of bumps and really unstable. The FX4 suspension in my 2024 Lariat Ranger is far better and more stable as I would expect.
The actual performance doesnāt change simply by updating the calibration value, only the displayed value which is only going to change by .2ish mpg one way or the other depending on if you went up in height and/or weight or down in height and/or weight. Realistically, it is what it is and youāll...
