For many of us, it's not about the money. I enjoy doing the service on my vehicles because it is so different from my normal responsibilities in life and my work. It's an opportunity for me to enjoy the shop that I built, use my lift, listen to my music drink a beer and just tinker.
Remember that your first sample will establish the baseline from which the other samples will be able to be compared. They will give you good information on the first one, but the best information comes with subsequent samples.
Unless you or someone else here can cite, with data, that this method isn't the best option, there is no reason for anyone to choose otherwise. The internet is full of people who love to speculate and oil change threads are epic in their hilarity. This is nothing new. As I posted elsewhere...
If you want actual data from scientists to determine what the best interval is for YOUR truck, send a sample in to Cat or Blackstone or whatever lab you like. Then send in another one on the next oil change interval. They'll tell you how much of the additive pack is left which is what...
Just follow the maintenance intervals provided by the engineers who designed and built the engine. They know more than you do.
I bought a pack of 10 Motocraft filters online for around $100 I think from https://ford.oempartsonline.com/
Doesn't matter what we use, your insurance is based on you, your location, credit score, and so much more. Go online and fill out a bunch of quote forms and see who works best for you.
It's a can and some hose. You could make one for very little money or buy one. No advantage to any of them, imo. They are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced no matter who you buy them from. If Ford thought it a necessary item, I suspect it would be on the truck from new.
You're showing your lack of critical thinking skills. Probably best to keep that hidden.

Just be careful when you ask questions. Try to read the FAQs and use the search. One of the comma mods is a straight up dick. They guy must be angry 24/7. Most everyone else there is great!
My experience with Comma stuff since V1 was that it isn't at all fiddly. Set it up and it just worked. No need to update if you don't want to. Lots of experimentation available if you want to play around with it.
Not with the default software and settings, but there are forks of this that will do that as well as drive point to point on a GPS routed trip. Google dragonpilot to see what all it can do.
I've been driven more than 150K miles on Comma devices starting with a Comma 2 and they're fantastic. I don't drive my RR enough to warrant the install, but Comma makes any trip much more enjoyable and relaxing.
We get it if the luddites don't understand new technology. You can stay in the...
