From a ford parts list it had shown 2 different dash harness part numbers which has m concerned the wires for the factory brake controller may or may not be there. No one as of yet has dived into this possibility for a definite answer. My particular XL was special ordered with trailer package...
If it's taped in that bundle, it might be as easy as the f-150s. My dealership told me the same thing that the wires should be there. When I reached behind the dash, I couldn't feel the connector in the bundle of taped wires.
When looking up by VIN it should show what harness should be...
You cant add a factory brake controller. The trucks with no factory brake controller installed has a different dash harness. You can install an aftermarket if equipped with connector by the driver's side firewall. If it doesn't have this connector, you will need to hardwire it.
Exactly. Only for aftermarket.....unless Ford decides to figure out a actual accessory for the 6G Ranger that looks factory.
The thought crossed my mind to see if you could utilize a ford pigtail and actual dash controller to connect to a REDARC module....but I'm not sure if I want to go down...
Pretty much...they are just saying that's the way Ford is slowing you to order now. I tried to order the bronco kit which is basically a redarc elite kit with the pigtail but that kit is now obsolete from Ford. I will end up just ordering the REDARC kit from Amazon with the pigtail.

I did a little bit of research and you can order the factory bezel where the factory brake controller would click into.
The F-150 uses the same controller. If there is no controller the f-150 has a coin tray ML3Z-15519C36-AA.
People are selling a 3d printed blank to go into that hole in which a...
