I just got off the phone with Redarc and they informed me the reason they made the AED harness. It is for Australia made Rangers and evertrek vehicles. Ones made in North America are plug and play with everything built it.
TPH-007 for connector on equipped ranger
EBRH-ACC-NA for Redarc kit.

So you are saying when the trucks autonomous emergency brake brakes sends the signal to brake the truck the Hopkins system will know this and know much braking is being applied and slow the trailer in the exact same?
Yes the block is for aftermarket tbc. My concern about the one you put in, is that is says it works with the AEB. Was there anything that had to be flashed to make the AEB talk to that setup? I know there is a separate harness that you have to buy from redarc and you have to take apart a pile of...
What you consider "low" has 4 pin and receiver
What you consider "mid" has the receiver plus the 7 and 4 pin(now you can order it with or without trailer brake controller)
Last is Advance tow that includes all the above with assist and trailer brake.
All of the about will vary on Trim levels...
When you press the button on the steering wheel you can ask it to play music that is on a usb instead of shuffling through hundred of songs while driving to find the one you want, it also can help go through settings and functions in the infotainment. This is the Ford "hands free" assistant.
All rangers don't have the tow package. There is an option for no tow package, tow package and advanced tow package. These options depend on trim level(unless Ford changes that as they go) You now can order an STX with trailer brake option IF you order it with tow package.
I'm coming to that conclusion too....😔. Ford dropped the ball on this. Plus if you have to add that stupid AEB wire harness...it's even more of a hassle.
The AEB system in the ranger can cause issues with a installed tbc that isn't setup for that. Redarc does make a additional harness to prevent issues with the AEB system. The biggest issue with that is the lengthy installment and disassembly/reassembly of the truck.
Just remember there is no trailer brake controller and you will have to add extra wiring harness for the AEB. Plus you do not have ford assistant with the STX package even though the STX has sync 4.
I have found these parts that are available. They are the cheapest. Unfortunately, the dash wire harness has 2 different part numbers along with different trailer brake modules with or without TBC. I wish ford would have just used one harness with the wires ready behind the bezel. With the...
There might be a separate module that the wires for the controller goes to or worst case scenario, it's a totally different dash harness which there is 2 different ones from my research. One with trailer brake, one without. Both very expensive.
If you want the factory brake controller and...
So far I have correct part numbers for the switch and bezel. About $180.00 Canadian.
SW-8839 for switch
N1WZ 26046A63 LA for bezel
Now I need to find out if the wire to this switch is sold separately as a small harness or if it's part of the dash harness which would suck. Plus I need to know...
Ford better come out with an accessory kit to install it. It's not hard to put the factory one in. The hardest part is getting the tech to turn on the right settings to make it functional
My STX did not have it zip by the firewall. It was placed behind the plastic kick panel. This plug needs the trailer brake module to plug into. Then there is a wire that plugs into the module that is fed to the gain module that is installed beside the steering wheel in a corresponding bezel...
You can now order the STX ranger with a trailer brake control if you order it with the trailer package. Ford is a little late now. Maybe parts for this option will be readily available soon.
I had mine done last Thurs. Headliner needs to be dropped. The tech was in a rush on mine and a complete idiot. Weatherstripping installed wrong, finger prints on headliner, dirty hands prints on my interior panels, boot print on the painted part of the sill 🤬, the passenger front seat was left...
I just made my exact build and it says for the STX it does have advance voice recognition with sync 4A. I think they missed the program in my truck. If I press once nothing comes on the screen. If I hold it down, the Google assistant populates.
