Aluminum may not rust but will corrode. The weathertech bed mat and tailgate protector has a really good fit but of course the sides and front of box are vulnerable to abrasions.

Weathertech makes a nice rubberized tailgate protector. You can even get the matching bed mat.

Heat gun. Carefully heat area and gently go over area to make the lifted plastic goes down. Don't stay in one spot with the heat. There is videos on YouTube. Since the scratch is not deep, a blow dryer or even steam could fix it quickly.

If I could have ordered and built a 2025 ranger my way. Desert sand with black and walnut brown leather seats, XL STX with 5.0, 4x4, black painted wheels with polished lip, no power windows or locks, block heater, heated seats and steering wheel, simple HVAC controls with vents to the back...
