Thanks Sandi for documenting your experience here. I printed out your messages and the dealer is going to change the booster. He can't promise that it will work but fingers crossed!
Just heard back from the dealer and they can't find anything wrong with brakes. They hooked it up to a computer and drove it 50 miles. Not sure where this is headed. I'll call Ford on Monday and maybe try another dealer?
Thank you. I'm sure that's what's going on. Hopefully the dealer will step up and convince Ford there's an issue. Seems like Ford relies Soley on the dealers to troubleshoot
That has happened but sometimes without a foot on both pedals. That occurs when the brake pedal falls below the level of the gas pedal and you wind up pressing both.
Thank you. This is exactly what is happening but I'm not getting a message or alert. Driver mode not available popped up this morning for about 5 minutes and the brakes were working fine. Tomorrow, who knows??? BTW, the pedal is firm with the truck off and in neutral.
I'm heading that way. The dealer doesn't use forscan so would have to take it privately and potentially void the warranty. Have to find a local mechanic. Thanks!
Mine moves about 3" b4 catching and then another 1 1/2 - 2 inches before stopping. Past weekend the pedal moved 1/2" before catching and no further. It's the inconsistency that worries me. Hopefully the mechanic who looks at it Tuesday knows more about this issue then I do!
My 2024 XLT is going back to the dealer for the third time. Brake pedal drops 6" or more and sometimes doesn't. Very dangerous especially in traffic or around turns.
Looking for some information regarding a sometimes soft brake pedal. It will travel 6" in stop and go traffic and hard stops. Was fine for a few days (1/2" depression and stopping at all speeds without sinking). Two dealers said its the way the truck works, not buying this as it's dangerous...
