No problems at all. Put the back of the cover just in front of the clamp pockets on the tailgate. Also go in the the bed at the front and make sure that the gasket on the cover is seated correctly.
I had the Ford tough spray in liner in our 2024 Ranger XLT and thought it was well done. Unfortunately the cab had a bad water leak and Ford bought it back. We then bought a 2024 Ranger Lariat but it did not have the spray in liner. I put a Weather Tech liner in and it fits great. Will probably...
Ok so here is the scoop. My friend and co-worker at Ford EMDO told me today that the 3.0L in the Ranger Raptor is Direct Injection only. He also said that a upper intake cleaner every 30,000 miles is advised.
I was going by what Ford engine specs was saying. I will call my friend tomorrow who still works at EMDO ( Engine Manufacturing Development Operations ) and ask him to verify.
Port fuel and Direct Injection, plus 91 octane is required. We have the 2.7L in my wife's new Ranger which is also port fuel and DI but we can burn 87 octane. I would have loved to have purchased the new Ranger Raptor but it was almost $10,000 more than our Ranger and no A/Z plan.
Hello Lion77 and thank you for the video's. You are correct when you said to use full synthetic oil. I use Amsoil Signature 5W-30 in my 2015 F150 3.5l . I also never let it go over 5,000 miles. My engine now has 140,000 miles on her with no issues. I am a retired FoMoCo Experimental / Prototype...
Rich, I understand your concern about the oil pump belt. My friends who still work at Ford are not seeing any issue with the belt in testing so far. I guess only time will tell. I just feel that if I am driving a real truck ( frame ) I want a V6 or a V8.
2.7L, Go BIG or go home! I have the 2.7L in our XLT FX4 and love it. Well worth the extra $2,000 bucks. Take it from a retired FoMoCo experimental / prototype engine mechanic.
As per how well our Ranger is in the snow, we wouldn't know. Our truck is going on week 3 at the dealer as they continue to locate the water leak in the cab. We do have plenty of snow in Northern MI.
How did you get your wiper blades to stay up? Did you open your hood first? This is one of my complaints about our new Ranger XLT FX4 2.7L. Wish the wiper arms were the F150.
I did nothing to ours due to the fact that it is still sitting at the dealer while they try to find the cause of our passenger side water leak. They have had it for one week now with no luck on locating the leak. FoMoCo is suppose to contact me today on my options as I filled for a buy/back last...
Yes all 3 are about the same size. I hate to sound picky but this is supposed to be a solid seam done by a robot to perfection, water tight and blending in with the cab. I feel this should have been caught at the plant by quality control or at least found when the truck was water leak checked...
