Your VIN is registered to your vehicle so if you live in CA, the system will recognize this when you start the process (it's using an online DB), thus preventing you from getting the proper file to install/register is what I understand, thus It won't work.
Can I inquire more about this notion of wheel-hop as I never hear it mentioned.
I have a 22 Ranger and a simple Ford tune so it's pretty standard. When I ditched OEM wheels for Baja Boss A/T's (265/70/18), the traction off-roading improved significantly, which is what I was seeking, but I...
I have MT Baja Boss tires on my truck and they look beefy with 265/70/17 and perform excellent off-road and on. I am a big fan.
Even better:
Mickey Thompson tires, including the Baja Boss series, are made in America, with the company’s headquarters located in Stow, Ohio...
Well, if it's working, you're in good shape. Congrats. I think with freeway driving on stock tires, I could muster 23-24 mpg...maybe a bit more, but that's downhill on many stretches and that's about Max on best case scenario. I run larger wheels now and city or mixed driving is sub 18 mpg for...
"Most of my driving (~9900 miles) with the exception of one trip to Colorado has been city driving."
City driving and 28 MPG at 500 miles on an 18 gall tank. Not sure if someone calls BS on this or you're driving downhill 100% of the time with 50 PSI in your tires. :)
Basically that's insane...
Nah......Different vehicles, different capabilities. Take Honda; They sell many over-lapping vehicles, as does Toyota. The Everest would be far more off-road ready than an Explorer which is an on-road vehicle. For example, my wife would want the Explorer and I'd want the Everest. Add in price...
if they order shocks and they are stocked someplace, should be a pretty straight-forward swap (same day), but if your shop has never done this before, it might scare them. Not all Ford dealers are knowledgeable about suspension, changes, etc.
e.g. When I had Ford install the Ford Performance...
I think I now see the oil leaking that's higher up. I wonder if the cold is causing the internal seals to shrink and allowing some oil to pass. Regardless, the dealer won't be able to repair them, so they'd have to be sent out for seal replacements, or new shocks ordered. The first option would...
That's a sealed system with nitrogen. Has it always been there?
If it were my truck, I'd take images (which you've done) and wipe it off, then check it again in a day or two to see if it returns. Also, I'd see if the nut turns, might just be slightly loose, but again, that system doesn't appear...
