I have had the 4DTech auto start stop eliminator on my truck for over a year with zero issues. and even when the battery is disconnected for several hours it still remembers the previous setting. I dont see how this little thing could possibly drain a battery... most likely it is the perimeter...

Air valve extenders are certainly an option but have potential to leak. My recommendation is a pair of needle nose pliers to help with the valve covers and a good air chuck that grabs on really well like the lock-n-lube air chuck.
