Ok. Educate me. I hear different terms. Offset. Spacers. I thought it was simply adding a spacer to the rotors and call it done. I was not aware it would cause suspension issues? Or any issues. Do long as it was minimal add like inch or less. Am I wrong or I er thinking this?
I like the wheels and tires on the XLT FX4 and didn't want to spend thousands on new that's why I thought maybe half inch or one inch spacers might be an option.
Questions. Anyone have same build? Thoughts? Was gonna wait to see of tremor appeared. No luck. But anyone use spacers to widen and if so what's the cons or pros.
Having had a bad experience with my Raptor and dumping it, I'm hoping Ford does a late add giving us the Tremor package. That with a 2.7 in an XLT might just be the ticket.
Here's hoping!!
You be you. But your missing. The point. You don't build a performance beast with a known issue motor and call it a success. Regardless of number of failures the fact that there is enough is enough.
If you Google it there are many discussions and other forums posting in what I consider large numbers. Look I work for a dealership and I spoke to my techs. It's just not good no matter what. That's what prompted my to dump mine.
Oh I'm sure you are spot on. And it's done all the time by all the makers. But when it come high performance limited build vehicles. Sorry not acceptable. Negates the complete logic.
Correct. Search both Ranger and Bronco site. Then Explorer ST and search cam phaser. Heck Google it. It's a bigger concern than you think. Enough that I sold my RR with 2k miles. Got out while I could still get top dollar. Didn't want to deal with a problem to which Fords fix was putting the...
You say that but I bought the RR with the 3.0 with not many reported but I got one. And if you read this forum many more. So it is a thing. And yup not an issue until you spend 60k and get one. The 2.3 on the other hand has zero cam issues.
I get was you mean, but you can take the 2.3 and add a tune and get near the same HP. My concern is, longevity of the motor and trouble free ownership. The 3.0 left a bad taste in my mouth. Didn't want to hope and pray ever start up. Yes I loved that truck, but for the money, and the issues...
So i had the RR and was unlucky enough to get the Cam Phaser issue at 900 miles (see other posts here). I love the truck, and would consider getting a none RR and going with a FX4 or Tremor. But I fear the 2.7L build on almost same specs as the 3.0L, has the same known Cam Phaser issues. I...
