Mixed opinions. If not that bad and only at cold start they state minimal if any. If noise all the time I don't care what anyone says its doing damage. If mine comes back I'm getting it taken care of for sure while on warranty.

That's not the same issue as the cam phasers. Completely different issue and if you are on that recall I'm sure it's a motor swap.

Not opting in yet. I'm gonna wait until it starts back up. Plus I want to see if they are installing a different part number for the cams. No reason to go through it all for same marginal parts.

So just to follow up. Over 2k miles no return of horrible cam phasers. I do get a very slight, ever so slight noise immediately at cold start but you almost have to listen for it. But other than that she's running fine. Odd. Hoping it was just a break in issue.

It indeed is vehicle specific. On a Ranger it is a cab pull or motor pull, only two options Ford gives us.

Just FYI, after rebalancing my tires, did nothing, still vibrates. However I did a test and swapped my tires out with a different set, and guess what? Vibration all but gone. So it has to be tire related.

Just FYI, every Ranger we have gotten in is the exact same, I guess its normal, or how it was designed. ugh.

So to be clear, it is a complete engine pull to repair. Not an easy fix. Also, see my other posts. I had horrible cam phaser failure at 900 miles... it happened for about three weeks. It has since almost all but disappeared. Not sure why? not saying tis fixed? not assuming it was beak in...
