You could clean and paint with a self etching primer. Be careful with any kind of undercoating around salt water that could trap moisture in. When I go down to the beach in Mexico I like to spray the underside of my vehicle with Fluid Film first.
Mine was ordered a week after yours, got scheduled for the same build week as yours and got built 4 days before yours and got shipped 8 days before yours. But it's not here yet. I'm a ways from Dearborn and they drop them in Phoenix and truck them down here to Tucson. Hoping soon.
I noticed...
It was a very tough decision for me to sell my pristine 2002 diesel F350 and order a new Ford Ranger and I'm still having doubts. But the F-350 was just too big for us anymore and it just sat in the garage not even seeing 800 miles in a year. Sold that and my VW TDI with the idea that the Ranger...
After having old school straight axle part time 4x4s all my life I have mixed feelings about all this electronically controlled off road stuff but the buyer has no choice if you want a new truck. Future generations won't even have to have any 4x4 knowledge except which button to push. What...
I'm going to get an ARE and I asked about leaks, the sales person said it will not leak. He told me they lay down a foam gasket all the way around, then the topper hangs far enough over the plastic rails that water runs down off the edge instead of inwards. He didn't say anything about spacers...
Have you thought about selling it privately? Since I had to wait for my new truck to be built and had plenty of time on my hands I went ahead and detailed my trade in to look like new and sold it privately for a lot more than I was going to get for a trade in.
If you decide to do this be sure...
So with Sirius XM 360L you can stream their "streaming" stations without going through a phone? I wonder if there is a way to upgrade to that in a 2025? I stream Sirius XM through my phone all the time, that would be a nice upgrade for me.
They may work in some cases but in general you can't beat lead chemistry for heavy starting currents, IMHO. I know there are a few being made now for light duty applications but I don't think they're ready for prime time.
I'd be interested in hearing what you are starting with lithium batteries...
Lithium batteries do not make good starting batteries, lead acid, either flooded, sealed or gel is still the standard.
As far as charger/maintainers the NOCO and Ctek are good for plug and play but if you're a nerd and want ultimate control and monitoring I like the Victron Blue Smart series...
Yes I get that on all my vehicles. Part of the white paint choice though is the paint holds up longer in the desert and I tend to keep my vehicles for a long, long time. White is also the easiest when it comes to making invisible chip repairs and paint correction.
I have to remind my dealer not...
I came very close to ordering Desert Sand, I really like it. But what pushed me to white was a trip to the dealer on a hot Summer day where I compared temperatures between a white Ranger and a DS Ranger, the difference was amazing. I forget the exact numbers but I posted them here somewhere, but...
Nice work! I did a similar thing with my Jeep. I suggest you look for some cargo blocks. They come with some cars like VW wagons but you can find them on ebay. They stick to your carpet with Velcro to secure items like boxes and coolers from sliding around.
I use D rings to hold the cooler in...
Yes I dislike alligator clips as well. This is the wire I was curious about, it looks like it's your charge wire but I though those were color coded for + and -
John I have 2 questions, is that a red wire on the negative side? Is it just a negative wire colored red? I am also curious what you use the Anderson plug for?
They might be trying to cut costs due to the tariffs. I read where the tariffs actually hurt Ford more than some of the import cars because even though they build here, they import parts which have higher tariffs than whole cars.
Modern vehicles are always thinking, which is why if they are not driven daily a battery maintainer is recommended. It started with German cars but now it includes all makes.
