extremely easy. It’s just a matter of disconnecting the 2 gas struts and then the panel slides right out of the hinges. Takes 1 minute. If you go to the Diamondback website I believe you can see a video of someone doing it real time. I love the cover and sit on it regularly after mountain biking...
Diamondback SE with 12 cleats
Fits any 2024+ Ford Ranger
I’ve only had it on my truck since January. Decided I need a topper for the dog kennels instead.
It’s in perfect condition. Truck always garaged. I still have the original Diamondback bulkhead bulb seal, which I never installed.
I’m...
The pictures with a tent on the topper use toppers that are either aluminum or steel. These fiberglass toppers, unless reinforced, generally don't carry that much weight. For example, my Leer holds 600 static, but only 200 dynamic (meaning while moving). It'll carry kayaks with no problem...
I have 23,000 miles on mine and just yesterday I experienced the changing drive modes while driving. I was going about 45 mph and it started scrolling through the modes, landing on rock crawl - went to 4L, diffs locked. I had to brake quickly and pull off the road. Kind of scary to be honest...
@TrailRax do you have a rack option for a topper? I'm looking for matching racks that I can put on both the cab and cap. Similar to this Victory4x4 set up on this Tacoma.
Should work well. The TW1 is a 300w sub and your amp pushes 300w into a 2ohm load. So you'll want to get the TW1-2. Both your amp and sub will max at 300w. If you buy the TW1-4, you'd only be able to use 150w when pushing the 4ohm load.
There is no TW1-1. You have your choice of TW1-2 (2 ohm) or TW1-4 (4 ohm). You'd pick whichever one is best compatible with the amp you're running. This sub is easy to wire as it is a single voice coil.
I really do appreciate you posting pictures! There is one thing that keeps me from liking it. Where the cab meets the cap, the cap is “bubbly” looking rather than a slope up to the higher height. Just not sure that rounded curve does it for me. I know I’ll miss the extra height, but I think I...
Dark garage picture, but as you can see above, I too am having paint flaking off the front lower bumper. I'm going to bring it up next time I'm in for an oil change.
Appreciate the picture! I'm really not sure why, but I tend to like the 180 on the Chevy and the Tacos (particularly those with a longer bed), but not as fond of it on the Fords with short bed. Can't put my finger on the difference. I think I'm leaning toward the cab-height, and then putting...
I’ve had many tents in my 40 years of camping and have never snapped a pole. People who snap poles are usually setting something up wrong. If you wait to tighten straps/guys until after the poles are in place, I can’t imagine it being a problem. I set this Napier up in the dark and it was easy...
I have the Napier truck bed tent. I used it twice before getting a Diamondback cover. I was actually going to post it for sale because I can no longer use it. It worked great though. I camped in Northern Minnesota when temps were down into the 20’s at night. I’ll be getting a topper or RTT...
with the track its extremely easy to loosen the ball directly from the track and slide one out and another in…seconds to do so. Easier IMO than changing arm-to-ball. But it’s really 6 of one half dozen of another. Either way, the track is quite easy. I suspect most people will get their...
Agreed on the simple installation and like others have said this thing is rock solid. I only have one arm on it for now, but it doesn’t move at all. Depending on the type of drill you have, you might need a right angle attachment for the back 2 screws due to low windshield clearance. I had to...
