  1. Offset or spacers

That's a whole different topic, as you're going down the road of 35s running 315/70/17 @ 34.5. And now you're talking possible trimming, rubbing and crash bar issues if you don't lift, etc. On the temp/cheap side, spacers will work, especially if you are set on keeping the stock rims. Ideally...
  2. Wheel/tire help…

Stock is 17x8.5 with 285 width = 11.2 ... so agree the 11.5 on 9" will fit better. Also, 17x8.5/+25 to +30 offset with with 285s are perfectly flush, so be aware 20x9/+12 with 11.5s will poke over 3/4"
  3. +25 Offset Wheels - any issues?

Nothing really new that @scout didn't already share with his pics, but felt like mud flaps on white had a way of really accentuating the inset, and the +25 Roush rims gave the flush look without really poking. Helped break up too much black/dark grey while flowing with the skid plate, and hub...
  4. Set on getting a RR but I need your help solving my garage dilemma!

It's awesome, as long as your expectation is a mid-size pickup truck. I drove Tacomas daily for nearly 20 years and will always have a pickup. With the tune, people are clocking 0-60 pulls in 5s. It's fast for a pickup, but certainly not fast. Almost any EV today is faster. The speed won't make...
  5. Set on getting a RR but I need your help solving my garage dilemma!

Not joking. My wife and I both swear the RR is more comfortable than her E, and I'm certain the E has to be smoother if not the same as the IS. The RR gets 15 mpg at best, so if that's a remote concern, I may question if it means finances aren't in full order. If that resonates at all ... with a...
  6. Set on getting a RR but I need your help solving my garage dilemma!

Sounds like all good advice, and you're likely keeping the GT350. Just adding another vote to keep the GT350. The IS350 is just your commuter, but it's also a dime-a-dozen entry/compact that doesn’t do anything special. You may find it super comfy, but my wife swears my RR is more comfy than...
  7. J-Braces back in stock at Ford.com

This thread prompted me to call my Dealer to ask. The advisor said maybe, but had to ask the manager, who said they were sticking to the verbiage of the CSP: J-braces + install covered thru 7/31/25 only if I buy the factory bed cap.
  8. SIGNATURE LUX Lava" Amber DRL Conversion Headlights🇺🇸

I read it that most assume aside from the US model not having the access panel, that most other assembly is the same or very similar. Thus, the maker of aftermarket mods is much more likely to have expertise/knowledge on how to disassemble and access the lights ... including having removed them...
  9. Lazy new guy. Cheap truck box solutions?

Pics as promised. The bed is wider than the Tacoma, so there's some side gap
  10. Lazy new guy. Cheap truck box solutions?

I have a 48gal Rubbermaid Action Packer cause it fit perfectly behind the cab of the Tacoma. I've had a 24gal one for 25 years and in great shape after lots of duty (dedicated scuba gear hauler, camp gear, desert dweller, etc). I'll see how it fits in the Ranger bed when I get home. Misc link...
  11. 2025 Ranger Wins Edmunds Top Rated Truck Award For 2025

Considering midsize pickups, it's because before the 6G Ranger and 3G Canyon/Colorado, the 2G/3G Tacoma was the only one that didn't look like crap. Honda and Nissan still prefer to make ugly trucks. Also due to its widespread popularity, Tacoma aftermarket options are like getting mods for a...
  12. Amber Grill Lights & Fatty Wannabee Syndrome (FWS)

We RR owners just need to bust out our Manly Man Ruler, the one that starts 1" 3" 5" 6" 7" 8" (...) and magically adds 2" to everything we measure.
  13. Amber Grill Lights & Fatty Wannabee Syndrome (FWS)

An F150 Raptor driver with his markers off, pulled up to my RR with markers (on during daylight of course), and proceeded to point accusingly at me. I noticed his peasantry Omega and raised my arm sporting my 116500LN black Daytona and pointed accusingly back at him. Our wives made eye contact...
  14. Diamondback SE Tonneau + Yakima Skyline HD system Installed

Had one of these on my 2G Tacoma for years. Great cover. Would you mind taking a slightly more elevated pic from the upper/rear? Something about the way the rear corners overhang, and no coverage over the tailgate has me divided on the RR fit.
  15. ProCal Tune and 10R60 Transmission

You should be safe doing an immediate rescue/recovery. The other vehicle is going to be doing their part too. Just don't hook up and tow a trailer. This is the standing advice of the ExST community. If any issues arise in-warranty, the dealer will see recent flash history but won't know what...
  16. ProCal Tune and 10R60 Transmission

The margin is far far lower, maybe 10% at best. The torque rating is based on max load limits i.e., the RR has a 5300 curb weight + 5500 tow capacity. So ~442 lb-ft rating against 10800 lbs, is a different story for truck-only weight. The Ecoboost V6 3.0TT and 10R60 has had sufficient years of...
  17. Draggy Run w/ FRPP tune and Proccess West Stage 1 IC

Not even close. Even if gear ratios are the same, the Explorer ST is a uni-body CUV and comes with 31" Pirelli Scorpion Zero, while the RR comes with 33" KO3 Trail Terrain. It would be like taking the ST and RR out to sand dunes, drive hard, and expecting the ST to keep up. 5s is amazing for a...
  18. Tune killing MPG

I was driving to work this morning, thinking about how my 2013 Tacoma didn't have an MPG gauge, and how I always knew I'd get ~275 miles against ~17.5 average fill tank, and only pondered a moment to think if it was super low (e.g., did I have lots of city driving/idling that tank, etc). I.e...
  19. Tune killing MPG

I'm not a granny driver by any means, but wouldnt say I've got a lead foot unless in in the mood. My 1850 miles since 1060 oil change average 14.7. I'm on my first full tank since tune install. Mixed driving, average 39 mph for 77 miles, I'm seeing 17.6 mpg ... so if my sample helps, I'm seeing...
  20. Tune killing MPG

If you want to see what it takes to get high mpg in this truck, test using the speed limiter function and let it hold like 50, 60, or 70 mph. You can mash the gas, and it will only do what it takes to hold speed. Really have to feather the throttle into deep vacuum zone to see that 25mpg zone...
