Ran them in light snow the other day and lateral grip seemed pretty good in 4A. A few test stops had me pretty easily getting into the ABS, so not unexpectedly confident braking remains a bit of an issue. Might do better in deeper snow. Caught some patches of ice on the road while out early...
My guess is that the brake feel is quite intentional given how soft the truck's front suspension is in compression. ie. a hard, firm pedal promotes a tendency for the truck's nose drop hard, whereas the softer, more progressive feel makes forward weight shift more manageable. Personally, I like...
Welcome to the Marsh Club! Like you, I bought mine off the lot as well. At the time, like you, there were other colors I would have preferred, but after half a year now, I really happy with it.
Ive been having exactly the same behavior over the last couple of days as well. Might be a coincidence, but I didn't have any problem until the day I used the app to remotely start the truck. Cant say one way or the other whether thats relevant or not.
My passenger's side went nuts over the weekend when I was out in the middle of a light snow storm. Wiped off some ice and it was a little better, but after a bit it started complaining again and kept squawking at every intersection. I just wound up throwing the sensor off switch. The other...
Hmmm... has anyone actually bothered to try to corner balance a stock RR? Be interesting to see what the weight distribution looks like. If things look good, the asymmetry might be normal and possibly beneficial.
A point I somewhat glossed over out in my earlier post. The shock/spring settings are undoubtedly setup to be soft on initial compression for off road performance, which makes matters worse on road when under hard braking given they allow more dive. This likely is why most initially find the...
Ex racer here as well. Don't do a lot of highway driving, so I can't comment on behavior at higher speed. At lower speeds, IMO the less than stellar performance in hard stops seems to be a combination of the tires, a lot of weight on the nose, not much in the rear and possibly the ABS system...
Wasn't me (Marsh Gray). I have seen a Velocity Blue one in my area. They do seem pretty rare in MA, but I do see F150 Raptors all the time. Hard to say why the RR is not more popular, but OTOH there's rarely more than half a dozen or so on area lots to begin with. Not too surprising that its...
Likely a piece of it, but spring and shock rates are probably in the mix as well given weight xfer (and tire choice) play a roles. In the RR's case, I'd wager the shock programming influences things. For a truck with only 55% on the nose, under hard braking it drops more like there's 65%...
For a brand new vehicle, in falling temps and despite the Imp. gallons (from a US perspective), that is extraordinary performance. Why, oh why, do we not get this truck here? One might have thought that the smaller Maverick Hybrid would have been more suited to Europe whereas the larger Ranger...
No issues on upshifts, but recently with mornings here in the NE US getting down to a few degrees above freezing, I have notice some abrupt downshifting approaching a stop when coming downhill on my street to the main road first thing in the morning. Once warm, no issue, but when cold there's a...
To be clear (and fair) the K03 lateral grip is fine. Its the linear grip (accel in 2wd and braking) on pavement where they the come apart. On dirt they're really quite good AFAICT. Some of the problem might have to do with the Raptor's ABS calibration which seems more set up for gravel than street.
True. But OTOH, if you find their squishy ass behavior under even moderately hard braking to be just too spooky, you might save yourself the hassle and expense of running into something. Per Tire rack testing the WildPeaks, for example, stop 9 feet shorter in the dry, 13 feet in the wet. I...
Havent ever had a problem with it... other than I can't really configure all the stuff I want to scroll through. Be nice to have the gauges along side trip etc, but I havent figured a way to make that work. Perhaps its comes down to a combination of the selections you make and the drive mode...
Its pretty typical for the MPGs to improve as the engine breaks in. Generally its takes 2-4K miles to get there, but some vehicles I've owned have kept creeping up through 10K.
